I am building a PC for my younger brother HELP!

I am planning on building a PC for my little brother this is what I have planed. Any recommendations would be great. please note we already have the GPU so we can not change that. 

 

CPU – i5-4690k  3.5GHZ  Quad-core

Noctua NH-U14S 55.0 CFM CPU Cooler

Gigabyte GA-Z97P-D3 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard

Kingston HyperX Fury Black 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1866 Memory

Asus Radeon R9 290 4GB DirectCU II Video Card

The 750 watt version isn't terrible. You can get better for the price, but it's not bad.

it is - 30*C temp rating with a 290 is bad

Don't trust a PSU brand - REVIEW THE MODEL - CX have a bellow-average temp rating of 30*C, poor quality chinese capacitors and bad performance on the rails under load

Motherboards are okay but the customer support from both is worse than anything I've had the displeasure to deal with - please do yourself a favor and look at ASrok or MSI

290s from Asus had heavy VRM overheating - not sure how his is but I imagine it's close to that

Okay, advise I can give you, Swap mobo for a MSI, a Hyper 212 EVO instead, 850 Evo for a SSD and any EVGA G2 series power supply.

The CX isn't a bad series of PSU's at all. But if you try to game on one you are just asking for trouble.

Well, considering this is a 750 watt, then it is a bad one, since what the hell are you doing to draw 750 watts if you're not gaming? :)

I'd grab a i5 4460 with a MSI H81 P33 board and use the saved cash on other things - a SSD from Samsung, a better case, a better PSU - one of those :)
