  1. Best advice is dont do it. If you had a waterblock etc yes changing the bios and having 1,3v etc. Just enjoy the card as it is. I had a 480 with a altered bios and a waterblock 1500mhz on the core and 1.3v as limit , Just leave the card with the original bios and enjoy dont make something that will brick the card and then you cant even get one on the crazy market atm.
  2. If they are cheap its a great card for 1080p . To this day gets all of the stuff from amd drivers .
  3. Ok start with this. 1 - Clean the dust off 2 - run DDU clean all drivers from Nvidia. 3 - Use latest drivers If it dosent do on something like heaven benkmark its all good and its a driver issue, Dont use furmark
  4. Unplug power, remove cmos bat, wait for some time, like remove it and go get a coffe and do stuff . Put it back in and good luck.
  5. 280x is a 7970 rebranded, so it's around 780ti performance and better then a 1050ti.
  6. Look for a r9 390 or a gtx 980ti The rest is kind of weak. Maybe you can find something cheap .
  7. Step 1 - Clean GPU take the dust out Step 2 - If Temps are still a problem, Repaste the GPU, now if your gpu is still under warraty you can send it back if you cant open it. Step 3 - DDU the drivers in safe mode, get lastest drivers Step 4 - Use 2 cabbles from the PSU to the GPU there can be an issue here.
  8. I have a 3900x ccx oc to 4.5 and it goes up to 150w sometimes and im using Resolve, normally on games runs around 50 to 75w, it really depends on how many % of the cpu is used.
  9. 390 with 8g of vram cant go wrong with that. Good options are RX5808g or gtx 1060 6G 4g cards are short for 1080p, For example monster hunter can use way more then 4g of vram at 1080p For a budget GPU put the ones that have 4g vram or less to the side and look for 8g and 6g options.
  10. I Have my 3900x ccx oc to 4500mhz since day one, and I have a 6800xt, It bottlenecks on the tittles that are old or just use one or 2 cores. The rest just dosent care amazing cpu. Just keep it and wait for ddr5, ddr5 will have new cpu, new rams and ofc new board, so just put the money side for that, thats what Im doing.
  11. keep the 6900xt, bump the resolution if you want with the virtual resolution .
  12. ok So I have a 6800xt with a 3900x and my 3900x is Oced to 4500mhz and even so it bottlenecks the 6800xt on some tittles at 1440p. WIth your 3600 you will get even more bottleneck
  13. Depends on your needs but: 5900x msi unify x570 Keep the rest When Gpus are not crazy prices 6800xt or 3080
  14. Ok 1 look, cpu is geting well used but not maxed. Gpu clocks seem low and the power is also low, Normally my 6800xt runs close to 2600mhz and 270w Run Heaven benqmark and monitor the clocks of the gpu, just run heaven in window mode at 1080p, its just something on a loop. Turn on radeon boost and nothing else , vsinc and all similars must be off.
  15. On mine since release I have it oced like this OC by CCX 45.50 44.50 43.75 43.50 1,375v LLC lvl 3 MSI board Temps normally are around 60 gaming , but I have a waterloop with a 360/60mm rad going to a 6800xt and then another 120mm rad. So not a normal case Even running Cine 20 never goes over 75c but I have the fans at 500rpm until it gets to 75c
  16. By Steps, Changing from Nvidia to amd 1 - Run DDU in safe mode and remove all Nvidia Software and drivers 2 - Make sure ram is running at same speed and the slowest sticks are the ones that you enable the xmp so that will be on the 1s slots 3 - No oc on cpu and only xpm enable test and use HWInfo sensores so you can share valid information 4 - Be aware that at least 750w gold psu is needed for the 6800xt, use 2 cables from the PSU. 5 - reinstall windows Its important that you share system information so we can help HWInfo is probably the most important one, we need to look at temps, voltage, ram allocation and power. If you are running games on an old HDD this can cause issues, even if you have the main as an SSD.
  17. most important is, that b350 wont have the bios for that 3500x, you will need a gen1 ryzen to update the bios. Please make sure it has bios flash back so you can update the bios and them put the cpu in.
  18. Hello. I have the same card, Really dont put a block on this one. Its very limited. No 2 bios and you only have 9% power on this one. Mine refuses to go over 2600mhz and just starts to show arctifacts , I was going to put a block also but I think I will wait fotr the 6900xt bios to work on 6800xt cards. Alphacool has a block for this card its around 125£
  19. Did you update bios, if not do it most of the times it helps.
  20. Hello, Did you open the card and clean? If you do it make sure the memory is well cooled and the pads are ok. If you have it on the vertical mount you can put a fan on the back of the card to get the hot air out.
  21. ´So if a vega 64 already melts connectors and kills psus this one will be even better at that.
  22. Dont forget you dont have a clean system. they use clean installs
  23. Wait did you try a diferent psu? If not try it. Also try 2 8 pin cables dont use just one.
  24. Really dont worry about it. Maybe sometimes, but games will pull more of gpus with raytrace and similares. Wait until DDR5 then upgrade. Only if you need more cores for work.
  25. Try the Auto undervolt option. Normally it does a good job
