You want to mix fake RGB ram sticks with real non-RGB RAM?

Sure, you can.  Not sure why you would but you can.

What are YOUR opinions?  I'd like to hear what you think of the results vs what you would have come up with.

If you're not actually building, may want to put this in offtopic.

Dedayog reacted to tyrolite in Abnormally high ping after upgrading GPU
I power cycled my router and connected my PC to it with an ethernet cable, but that doesn't seem to have worked.

I'm beginning to think it's an issue with the connection to the game server itself and not a whole network issue, because my ping is good on a couple other games I just tried, and the results from a few online ping tests are also good.

It's just very strange that I got this issue right after upgrading and updating.

I hate all this AI generated garbage so much. This post is legitimately akin to someone just rolling their face on their keyboard and posting it as a thread.

Theres nothing here. Do you really want to analyze what an AI came up with as a pc build? Because they’re both terrible, under detailed, poor choices based entirely around popularity because that’s all it understands.

If I had to choose to assist someone in part choices for two pc builds and person A decided to use GPT4 to pick out a pc, and person B made ye olde “don’t fill any details in the preformatted message” thread with an all caps title that just says “HELP”…
Im picking person B because at least they admit outright, albeit passively, to being braindead. Rather than presenting themselves as braindead by accident by having AI write out a forum post for them.

Check their interest and admin cost, but honest to god buying lumpsum is always the way to go. Paying PCs with loan is 99% a bad idea even for credit score building exercise, in which case id still settle with the old school maintaining subscriptions on credit cards and making sure to pay it on time all the time.

What are you using the machine for?   The 13600KF is plenty for the majority of users.   The RAM is damn near the same, probably has the same timings.

Why are those your only choices?

Dedayog got a reaction from SorryBella in After my new system get here should replace the generic thermal paste the builders used with a better one?
No.  Thermal paste for the most part is a degree or two difference.  Unless you suspect they are using some super shit paste, no.

Mostly they are using the preapplied paste on the components which is more than fine, most of us use that too.  I do.

wifi makes it more likely to be possibility3
If the GPU also has coil whine issues, then this is probably it.

try it with ethernet jack for a bit. see if that helps.
it will at least narrow it down to just WIFI interference or the whole network card.

I'd try moving around the wifi antenna a bit, see if that helps. Also the cable from wall to PSU could also cause emi issues. move that around a bit too.

could be, have a friend over than see if he lags on your network

could also be you neighbor just bought a shitty microwave and uses it all the time,
or he suddenly had an interest in signal jamming technology, building and testing shit in his garage XD

You can stop mouthing off to us, since we're trying to help you.  You and your family have some very OBVIOUS behaviors they can manage to get this worked on.

I'll look over your attitude due to being young, but also it's not all on you to fix this.  Your family as a whole needs to work together, however that may be.

It may not be as dire as you make it seem, since grandfather is still playing chess and living his life.

What PC are you putting this in?  Some prebuilt or laptop?

Outside of that, WD Red is nothing more than just a drive with better reliability.  Nothing that would preclude it being used as a boot drive.  Go for it.

Dedayog reacted to IkeaGnome in 13600kf or 13700kf?
To go back to the original question, the 13700k is ~ a 250W cpu if it's left stock. The Peerless Assassin does pretty well on 200W cpus under load. I'd expect the 13700k to be a bit warmer, but not at thermal throttle range, especially for games since that's a lighter load than benchmarks.

lol, yes.... only 6 p cores are enough going forward.  You realize the best CPU for gaming is just an 8 core right?

If you already bought a ridiculous GPU, I don't see why you aren't going with the 7800x3d or 13900k(s).

Spending almost $2000 on a GPU but trying to shave $100 off the CPU just makes no sense.  Anything else hamstrings the 4090.

Realistically, if you can't afford the rest of the PC for the 4090... should have bought a 7900xtx.

Polite supportive answer:  13600k + Peerless will serve you well enough.

4GB is fine for 1080p gaming, or eSports.

1050Ti's still do just fine.   Like you said, mid-settings.  If you want High settings, buy a better card.  That's the entire point of their tiered line-up.
