I don't mean hooking it into the main DSL, as you can only have one router.  I meant Ethernet to VDSL adapters, but they are quite rare so expensive.  In 99.9% of scenarios WiFi or Powerline is likely a better option, but powerline can interfere with your DSL if that is how you are receiving broadband.

You'd probably need to convert it to VDSL but those adapters are expensive.

As long as your main broadband isn't DSL based, you'd probably be better of trying good Powerline adapters.

Id update the bios. Often they come with memory compatibility improvements.

I searched and compared it with other devices in terms of performance (benchmarks mostly) and I concluded it is a major update compared to my mi 8 lite. I will buy it.  Thanks for all the responses.

Not worth upgrading a phone for
5G is pointless for 99% of people and in this bracket the difference between the chipsets doesn't make much of a differnce
Paired with weaker chipsets more RAM doesn't do much for you, 4GB should be enough
They're not getting the high end with the price they listed
Neither phone has a good camera, UW is nice but the jump even with everything else isn't worth it
Which are worse than traditional ones so that's actually a downgrade
    RIP
    RIP
    Nice but again not massive.
Battery shouldn't be an issue anyway and most phones can charge past the spec anyway. I was charging my iPhone 5 with an iPad charger to charge it faster for years.

Overall just save more and make a jump to something worth the expense or just get something used. A pixel 4 used would offer a much better experience over the Mi 10 for a similar price.

Megapixels mean nothing, if anything cramming more into a small sensor degrades quality. If a professional grade camera is more than fine with 24MP why does a smartphone with a tony sensor need any more?

If your current phone fulfils what you need don't upgrade. They're mid to low end android phones there's not much difference, 5G isn't worth it and won't be for a while yet and camera wise in this price point look for a pixel because the only phone that's in the same bracket are iPhones and they're not cheap.

I don't know the difference between Mi 10 Lite 5G and Mi 8 Lite, but I have the Mi 10 Lite 5G and it's awesome. Very good 48MP camera - detailed shots and 1080 60fps recording (it also has 4K 30fps). Amazing screen, good looking notch, corners a little bit too rounded for my taste, huge screen. And ofc, 5G (never had the chance to test it). Battery could be bigger tho, fast charging is ok. If you want a little bigger camera (64MP), a bigger battery (5000mAh) and faster fast charging, you can buy the Mi Note 10 Lite, but no 5G (doesn't really matter if it is expensive or not very implemented in your country) and I like the design of Mi 10 Lite more.

    yes you are correct.

Rather than limiting your speed when you torrent I recommend you change the number of max seeders (the computers that you download the file from)

giwrgosp- reacted to Alex Atkin UK in Router crashes when downloading torrents
Torrent by its nature will try to download from as many other clients as possible, you likely need to limit this number.

It certainly wouldn't hurt to make sure you have port forwards setup correctly, although I'm not sure if that helps the particular cause of this problem or not.

No, sadly you can bypass that and not deal with them and connect a second router anyways. What will happen is if you use that second router the modem will see it as a single address and treat it as a single device. Remember to set your ips differently. If your root is 192.168.1.1 change the other router to say something like 192.168.2.1 so the devices dont get confused on the network. Its a simple way to bypass their nonsense.

Your router combo box is being overloaded with requests. What essentially is going on is because its trying to complete so many tasks at once the system goes and throws its hands up and gives in. What you need to do to keep the system up and happy is to separate these two systems and buy a separate router. Even that will relief the system to such a great extent that you may find your up time has improved greatly. So the long and short of it... Buy a router and save yourself more headache then what it's worth.

It's super easy and free though, and for decoration i'd imagine that you really don't need anything higher bit-rate than youtube 4k

But if OP needs more than that something else is most likely be better

Vimeo uses H.265 and supports much higher bit rates than youtube. Try that

That's not high bitrate.... You could maybe call it that if it's 8K YouTube, but 4K YouTube, nah.

I've only seen speeds that bad on crap routers like the BT HomeHub 5 which doesn't have a powerful enough CPU for proper AC performance.

I always get over 300Mbit on my laptop and up to 500Mbit on my phone to my FritzBox running OpenWRT.

As for routers with 100Mbit ports, very unlikely their CPUs are up to the task of full-speed AC, although in theory if it were you could still benefit on WiFi to WiFi traffic being faster than WiFi to LAN, as stupid as that would be.

it's not bad but maybe there's more to be squeezed out. Even with voltage kept the same.

It's just a matter of dropping the first value listed in the bios (tCL or tCAS, same thing), run memtest of 8 instances (multiple windows of the same app, same as your CPU thread count) to test most of the memory capacity (I think 8 700MB tests will do). If it passes 50% (I'd say 100% for final stable test) on all of the instances, drop the value further. Otherwise, revert to last stable settings (saving multiple OC profile will help) and start dropping the second value. tCL, tRCD, tRP, tRAS, tRC, tRFC should all go down, tREFI goes up instead.

Raising memory frequency is another possible option, at the end of the day the fastest set of number wins, regardless of what you actually touched. You can use AIDA64's cache and memory benchmark to evaluate memory performance.
