Go for it, won't be a problem. Check the bios after to make sure all the modules are detected and running at 3200 speed. I always shut off the power supply as well to be extra precautious, don't really think it matters though.

I’m not a power supply expert but from what I researched online, I don’t think your going to have it blow up like some random Chinese power supply, without a gpu you are problably in a better position to not worry. Jonny gurus main complaint from the review I read was the 12v rail wasn’t excellent like the minor rails. Having no gpu though, it’s not like your pulling a lot anyways so I would not worry with your current setup, if you were to throw in a decent video card in there maybe consider investing in a higher quality psu, not saying this won’t work but the fact the company only gives it a 3 year warranty kind of Shows how it’s clearly a budget design and won’t last a significant amount of time that they can assure you for. Also If you are worried about power surges use a high quality surge protector.

It will just POST with a 4-pin connected. It will fit in one half of the board's connector.

    Antec ISK110??
    Or something like that
    I'd get a Ryzen 2200G or 2400G.
Because way better graphics and similar CPU Performance.

    What case?
    What PSU?

4pin is fine for lower end CPUs.

Most (if not all) motherboards will POST with only a 4-pin and the ATX 24-pin plugged in, and operating it this way with a stock i3 8100 should be perfectly safe so long as the PSU is a quality unit.

It should work with only the 4-pin.

Ryzen 5 1600 does not have integrated graphic and seems like you don't have a graphic card plugged in either.

Still 1080p 144hz, maybe like a 24-25 inch monitor though because 1080p starts to look pretty bad at 27+. If you can get a 1440p 144hz monitor, even if your GPU can't push out that many frames at 1440p, then you should be set for a long while as it will outlive your graphics card.

The one's you bought are for laptops, the ones you linked will work.

If you're not overclocking, you could save money on the motherboard and just get an h370 board instead, you could potentially upgrade the gpu with the money saved. Maybe to a 1070ti or 1080. No need for a z370 board if you're not overclocking.

In terms of headsets, the Steel Series Arctis 7 2019 edition are probably more comfortable, have better sound, and don't have any red when compared to the cloud flights. If you really wan to go crazy, the Arctis Pro Wireless is amazing, although pretty pricey.

I don't see the point of getting an unlocked processor in that case, you won't be able to overclock it with the low profile cooler and lack of air flow anyways. I say save on the motherboard and ram and get a locked i7 8700.

You should try to get a 2x4GB set of RAM, and if you can swing it go for 3200 speeds on them. Ryzen processors love fast dual channel RAM

Unfortunately, bad firmware is common in Ryzen laptops since the ecosystem is still immature. This is why they have inconsistent CPU performance and poor battery life (mainly due to fans running).

BabyPCMR reacted to deferentlemur in Laptop Acting Weird After Fresh Windows Install
Since it is a fresh install, how long has this activity been occurring? The reason I ask is that Windows does a lot of background work all by itself. Things like updates, antivirus scans, disk defrag and indexing, etc. I have had systems that were sitting at idle and suddenly the fans start going crazy. Inspection of the task manager revealed Windows services doing maintenance stuff. Chrome even has its own background malware scanner now.

You could try going to Control Panel > Power Options > Edit Plan Settings > Change advanced power settings, scroll down to Processor power management > Maximum processor state, and change it to something like 10 percent. This will limit the max processor speed commanded by Windows. That way, no matter what background services are going on, the processor shouldn't heat up. This will identify a Windows versus firmware problem. Don't leave the setting there permanently, it's just for troubleshooting.

If the above steps do not reduce the CPU speed to maybe 800 MHz or so (visible in task manager > Performance tab), then there is likely a driver issue. You could try manually removing the drivers in device manager, and either letting Windows install its own validated drivers or get them straight from the AMD website.

Another quirk I have encountered in the past, and may or may not apply, is that things can get weird after a BIOS update. I have always been able to fix this by going into BIOS and restoring the default settings, or whatever option yours presents to you to return to the default state. After doing that and a restart that always fixed it for me.

If you're already going to use a 1050Ti, get the i3. It won't care about the single channel slow DDR4 memory either. If the GPU wasn't part of the equation, I'd have said 2200G with dual channel DDR4-2666 minimum.

You should just read the text you see on the screen. It rather clearly says that it's changed the HDD/SSD access-mode from AHCI to RAID and that may render Windows unbootable; just go into BIOS-settings, find the HDD/SSD-settings and change them back to AHCI.

Well, the graphics card is ASUS.  Dual fin SLI, so it's a higher end card, but not long enough to be a 70 or 80 series really.  Looks to match the Asus GTX 760 DirectCU ii pictures on google images.
