Adding additional RAM sticks

Hi all,
I currently have 2x8GB DDR4 3200Mhz Corsair Vengeneance RGB Pro RAM and was wondering if i wanted to add another 2 sticks of the same to give me a total of 32GB, will i run into any issues by just shutting down, sticking the 2 sticks into the first and third slot (which will take up all 4 slots) and start back up? I also have XMP profile active pushing the full 3200Mhz.
SOC voltage: 1.1V
DRAM: 1.35V

Can anyone advise if this would be safe to do as i find my RAM almost maxing out with a number of Chrome tabs open, multiple applications and a game.

My build is a 3900x, 2060 super and a gigabyte x570 aorus motherboard.

Thank you all.

As long as it is the same/similar ram, it’s plug and play like you said.

I am far from an expert in this so please correct me if I’m wrong.

Go for it, won't be a problem. Check the bios after to make sure all the modules are detected and running at 3200 speed. I always shut off the power supply as well to be extra precautious, don't really think it matters though.

Thank you both for you replies. When i do it, it should apply the XMP profile and set voltages for all sticks right? As you said, i will double check to make sure but i expect it to run with the same settings as they do currently across all 4 sticks when i end up putting the other 2 in?

Yep, I believe it will automatically apply xmp for you.

Thank you. Keen to see what BabyPCMR thinks too.

One last question, is there any performance or any other difference in running say 2x16GB or 4x8GB sticks?

There shouldn’t be a noticeable difference between the two. Definitely not enough that you should spend more on a 2x16 kit.

Well the thing is i already have 2x8GB not knowing i would need 32GB. Obviously not viable now for me to go buy 2x16GB, i would just go buy another 2 sticks of 8. Im just not quite sure if having 4 is less reliable or wont play nice with my AMD CPU as ive heard some things on forums saying it may not be best.

Having 4 sticks shouldn’t be less reliable or have any issues.
