Guess what time it is?!

Smooth Bunz reacted to kickasssloth in The Quantum Loop - Copper Hardline Build
RUST TIME!
First I set down some base to decide where the rust will mostly be, my thought being rust had gathered where the vent had been cleaned, overtime removing paint and allowing rust build up...
NOW FOR TEXTURE!
Mixed some PVA glue, water and sand (all I had was kinetic sand laying around...) and painted it on the rusting areas, this allows for some texture and build up, as well as some areas of pitting if you remove small amounts once the top coat is on.
Now I add some paint of different shades over the top of that...
Now after a whole bunch more layers its mostly done. Time to let it fully dry and beat it up a bit more later!
Thanks for everyone following and looking!

If you did go with that motherboard and cooler that means you could save some money as you wouldn't need to get the 6700k

Smooth Bunz reacted to p0Pe in Project Rhino - A HEX GEAR R80 prototype build
Got some goodies from Intel! But I messed up. I thought I could just throw the PCIe ssd in between the two top graphic cards and be done with it, but after testing it out, the heatsink gets VERY hot during use, and I would not be comfortable with having it sanwitched in between two cards. The other option would be to watercool it, but it would require a special made SLI bridge, and would put the ssd out of the rear of the case. All in all, no really good solutions. I even tried messing around with a X4 extender cable, but could not really find an alternative that I liked.
So the end of it will be that I will be taking out one of the Titan X's after thermal testing and benchmarking is done, and then I will put this baby in the rig and shoot some more pictures!
One a bright side, I have the Klevv Urbane ssd that I can use as a main OS drive until the Intel one can be put in.
A 1.2 tb PCIe ssd, and a i7 5960x!
This disk is just INSANE in every way.
One thing I quickly noticed compared to standard ssd's or M.2 ssd's is the huge heatsink.
Also, the backplate is a nice touch!
It is actually suprisingly small. CPU for scale. But even though it is not huge, it is actually quite heavy because of the heatsink.
Not much to say. Lots of dots.
Just messing around with the macro lense.
I again opted for the dedicated X99 waterblock. This one just makes life so much easier if you know you will only be using it for X99 setups.
The polishing on these waterblocks are quite alright:D
Almost to the point of stupidity.
It looks good, but will never be seen again.

Smooth Bunz reacted to Blade of Grass in 2.6 TB of documents showing "how the rich and powerful use tax havens to hide their wealth" leaked
Mossack Fonseca, a law firm which offers to administer your offshore company for a fee and has over 200,000 clients, had their servers breached and 2.6TB of documents stolen which show
This seems to be the largest data breach in history and it seems to be some pretty scary stuff. A lot of the data in the breech involved many high level government officials including:
Egypt's former president Hosni Mubarak Libya's former leader Muammar Gaddafi Syria's president Bashar al-Assad. Russian banks and close associates of President Putin Icelandic Prime Minister Sigmundur Gunnlaugsson And there's even more!
Why should you care?
Good question. Personally, I think it just demonstrates the level of corruption that exists around the world. Potentially one of your government officials or their close family members will be on this list, potentially not.
This also demonstrates yet again how important good security practices are, 2.6TB is an ENORMOUS amount of data and it is beyond me how they could steal that much data before anyone found out. I hope more information on how this was done is released in the future.
I guarantee someone, if not, a lot of people, are getting fired over this.

Just a small teaser if you don't mind posting it here. For heavy 24/7 rendering, animations, purely pro work.

Smooth Bunz reacted to DrDray in EVGA or Gigabyte
I would personally go with EVGA as they have the best customer service. If you're looking at cooling/noise, then avoid their mini versions of the card.

Smooth Bunz reacted to Nacho Marco Segui in H110i Gpu mod
Lately I have been thinking of watercooling my 970 g1, I don't really need it since I can't break the 70 degrees barrier, and it would be pretty expensive. Yesterday I saw an offer on Amazon, the H110i Gt for 80 euros, and I pulled the trigger. The cooler was sold as refurbished, but it had the pre-applied tim, so it is brand new.
Let's get into the modding:
First, I drilled two holes in the AMD mounting bracket:
Then, with two bolts and two nuts I proceeded to attach the block to the die:
And finally, I mounted it:
The results are, well, temperatures don't go above 56 ºC while running heaven, although VRMs jumped to 85 degrees, so a heatsink is recommended. But in the noise department, meh, the loudest thing in my computer was the hdd, now it is a combination between the pump, the hdd and the rattling SP140Ls. Keep in mind that my case is open and my pc is at 70 cm from my face.
To sum up, this mod can work if you don't really mind acoustics, it is fairly easy and somewhat cheaper compared to a custom loop. Although you will need a wide case for the tubing, now my pc looks like an octopus

Rather than bore you will unboxings......
This is the motherboard im using,a Z97 Impact with an EK Impact monoblock......Take a last look at the stock unit.....
All the mish mash of colour needs.....refining I think.
Lets start by covering all the caps with Anthracite grey vinyl....
Then maybe spray all the copper a dark grey matt?
And then do the I/O and all lthe little detail badges in the same Anthracite vinyl...
Much better, the red will not be noticeable once the kit is all bolted in place.
Much more subtle I think.

I was pleasantly surprised at how good this ram looks in person. At first I wanted dominator platnums but I couldn't bear the $189-210 price tag
but the stick have almost a chrom affect to them that looks really nice.
I could have painted the Board and gotten a similar effect but I decided to just sell it and get the EVGA board also I kinda wanted a board with the i/o cover shroud to paint to match the system look.

Smooth Bunz reacted to ostercraft123 in EVGA's first laptop available for pre-order
At least it would be a review again, i seriously think that LTT starts way too many new shows now (Useless tech, Holy $hit, etc.). And it would be interesting to see what EVGA has done there and if Linus complaints about something they will sure try to make it better because EVGA's customer service is just plain awesome.

Smooth Bunz reacted to Nex Cube in Does my board support this CPU?
I see, thank you very much. I'm actually just gaming right now, so I guess there's no reason to upgrade just yet.

Smooth Bunz got a reaction from Nex Cube in Does my board support this CPU?
It will work if the bios are up to date
No, not unless you are rendering. if you are just gaming an i7 would be worth the upgrade

Smooth Bunz got a reaction from Hasle in Xbox One Elite controller blocking my keyboard?
I've been having the same issue but with a regular xbone controller.. i cant use my keyboard in GTAv while the controller is connected.
I would love to know if anyone has a solution!

Smooth Bunz reacted to Hasle in Xbox One Elite controller blocking my keyboard?
Oh, that notion about it also affecting regular Xbox One controllers pointed my Google searches in the right direction, and I've struck gold!
Reddit to the rescue: https://www.reddit.com/r/GrandTheftAutoV_PC/comments/48me06/psa_latest_windows_10_update_breaks_keyboard/ (scroll down a wee bit, there's a post with a link to a new driver, and instructions on how to update it)
Of course it's a dodgy Windows 10 update that's caused this, affecting all XInput controllers, including PS4 DualShock, newer Logitech controllers, etc.
Just tested with GTAV, and it works perfectly!
