TheSuspenceful reacted to PRTI in Planning my build. What should i change?
As for the build looks good, the platinum's are not needed, the PSU is not overkill if you do OC'ing it will be in the sweetspot,i would add more storage like a 1TB WD Blue, also if you could spare some more cash i would change the cooler to a Cryorig H5 Ultimate
And yes MSI is a good brand for motherboards

its a website that promotes the selling of its own product, by putting out information that is not only wrong, but not supported by studies.
if you click on the "learn more" button in the paragraph, it leads you to their store
do not believe them. this is a cheap money making site to make you believe in stupid ideas.

TheSuspenceful got a reaction from Dylyinyang in My Final +- 1700$ build
Your SSD isn't useless. It's read and write speeds are faster than a hard drive's so it will make a good boot drive. In fact, i suggest ditching the HDD and just using an SSD. Do you really need 1 TB?, if not, i suggest sacrificing some storage for some speed. An M.2 SSD to boot from would also be a neat idea.

TheSuspenceful got a reaction from i_build_nanosuits in Is there any noticeable difference between 1080p and 1440p?
When i see comparisons of videos and images on the internet of 1440p, and 1080p, i can't tell the difference between them at all. They all look exactly the same to me, which is a bit frustrating. Is it because i currently use a 1080i monitor, and i need to actually use a 1440p monitor to see the difference? Is it my eyes just not picking it up? Do you people of internet notice a difference? i want to know because when i build my new computer, i want to know what kind of monitor to get.

TheSuspenceful reacted to brob in It took a while but I think this is it.
Two small suggestions. A different cpu cooler, very good performance and reasonably quiet. A better psu with a longer warranty.

TheSuspenceful got a reaction from Mauricio G. B. in Air cooler for i7 5820k
I personally don't have any experience with this cooler, but the reviews i've read about it are that it's quiet and efficient: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA68V21E0643

TheSuspenceful reacted to SnowyMus in What do you think of my current build?
It's a pretty solid build, especially if you have a need for 32 GB of RAM. My only complaint is the power supply - while it's not a bad PSU at all, it's a cheap power supply meant for entry-level builds.
If you want to stick with Corsair, get their RMi power supply ($129.79). You could get an equivalent EVGA 750 W G2 ($111.70), as well. Both of these power supplies also are 80+ gold certified, so you can get a very small savings on your power bill.

TheSuspenceful got a reaction from neocronix2 in choosing between two mobo's
They are both great boards, but personally, i would go with the Gigabyte GA- 170X because it has one more M.2 drive. They are making SSDs now that plug into the board via M.2 and are faster than standard SATA drives, and they are not that expensive. So, what is wise to do, is have 2 M.2 SSD drives(one 120GB one to boot, and a larger one for storage, or whatever you want to do). If you don't plan on using M.2 drives, it's good to future-proof, considering that SATA drives might become obsolete, or you might want to upgrade to M.2 later.
