ok, i have the opposite problem, my 1060 only requires one power plug but my cable has 4 so I'm contemplating cutting them off, or making up a new one incase i need the extra plugs in the future. Did you understand what i meant by staggering the cuts? it helps in reducing the increased size of crimps but also helps when soldering & heat shrinking too. Maybe this will help

i should mention its just a tin coating to stop the copper oxidising. some say it helps soldering

yah the best you can do is report it stolen, if you have serial numbers, report them as well, then watch craigslist. Pawn shops are required to check these things as well I believe, so call around.

out of all the places where to report a stolen video card, nvidia is probably one of the least useful places, along with your local church.

Check the local sites where they sell GPUs, check local stores and it seems you know the culprit so yeah you can "talk"  to him.

Excellent point. Call the police asap. If he does try to pawn it and someone buys it, they're generally required to hang on to it for 90 days before offering it for sale. If a police report with its serial number comes in, they have to hand it back over to the police, who'll return it to you.

I would highly suggest you buy a lock to put on your case to prevent the side panel from opening, some cases have aspot for this feature if not mod one on.

they probably will do nothing about it, its not going to make them money. you could try to ask the police if they can track it's IP trough that serial number IF nvidia is willing to work with them. im interested in the story though, how did it get stolen?
