Sure, but there's nothing wrong with learning C or C++ for your first language either.
It's unclear if you're going to be learning one language or two for this course (the last part of this sentence implies one language but the title suggests two). C and C++ are two separate programming languages. Unless the course requires learning both C and C++, then you'll just want to focus on just one of them.

Some people view C++ as C with some extra features and will recommend learning C first and then C++. This approach tends to cause people to learn C++ in a C style (although it depends on the learning material you're using). In my experience, most people these days consider that an outdated view of C++ and recommend treating them as completely different languages and to approach learning them differently. Ultimately we can't know how your course is expecting you to learn these languages (or if it even matters).

So you installed Plex on the 252 machine, right?
    A. Are you sure plex is running on 32400. If unsure try running a portscan on the pc you installed Plex on. A good tool for that is Nmap.
    B. I assume the laptop is running on wifi. Check if the wifi is on the same subnet as your Plex machine. IE: 192.168.X.Y. X should be the same, Y can be different.

I have an old box running Ubuntu Server 16.04 with 2 gigs of RAM, an old AMD Sempron 3000+ to its name. I have a bunch (around 11 GB) of music files that I'd like to stream from it so I don't have to haul it all around on any device that I could conceivably want to listen to music on.

I know Linus has done a video on this subject, and I was tempted to go with Plex per his recommendation, however, Plex has decided to change their business model(?). I don't enjoy the idea of subscribing to Plex so I can listen to my music that has a length of more than 1 minute.

I tried using Subsonic for a time, but I later installed email functionality to the server and, for some reason, it stopped working. For me to use Subsonic, I'll need to either need to install it on another box, or work out what went wrong in the first place. In either way, I don't see me doing because computers don't grow on trees, and I'm not an expert at linux.

So I'm asking you guys this, what software could I use for my purposes. I have an android phone so bare that in mind.

Seasonic is the one and only readily-available PSU brand that I would say you're 100% safe with in terms of quality, no matter which unit of theirs you buy.

You kinda have to use your imagination to come up with something you want to build, then research how other people have done same/similar things and then build it yourself.

whiteGloveReview got a reaction from S_Maurice in amd rx 480 problems (?)
hey listen all i'm just curious about something, so apparently the RX 480 has a power issue concerning the PCI-E slot that can result in that slot frying. I'm asking around if this exclusively happens to the 8 GB vs the 4GB and under what circumstances such an event would occur. From what I understand it only draws these exceeded ratings during periods of high stress such as like Crysis 3 on like ultra settings at like 4k. I'm only a 1080p gamer and i'm considering getting this just so i can get decent framerates without making my games look like they came from the quake engine, for a cheap price.
As just a quick restatement, will said power failures happen exclusively on the 8GB/4GB or both, and do i run the risk of it happening to me? myself being a "low res" gamer wanting to squeeze out a few extra frames.
