    found it:
    https://visionaudiovisual.com/en/product/tc-matrixtx

there's a good second or two latency on there, so you can only really use it for movies or presentations and not interactive content like games.

basicly every TX side gets an ID, and every RX side gets an ID (the RX side only really for management purposes), and then on the RX boxes you can set which TX side it displays.
also got a poopy webinterface to manage stuff from.

what it does is the TX boxes just encode a video stream and blast it out on the LAN, then the RX boxes can grab that stream, decode it, and push it to a HDMI display.

EDIT: dont read into the listed specs too much.. i just recalled what horrid nonsense they are.. the 18Gbit figure appears to be pulled out of their butts, and the "<500Ms" figure.. well.. technically Ms means "megaseconds" so that's not a lie... 😄

Sorry, this doesn't exist in that form.

If you want multiple video streams over one ethernet cable, you'll want to be serving streams from a media server and having the devices be cabale of "tuning in" to the streams

redanalog reacted to KevinSpanish in Can't get lan wall outlet to work properly
I've tested another switch, no luck.

So our network layout is something like this

Modem --[Two separate cat 5e wires]-> 3-part rj45 wall outlet in living room (one is wired up as a phone line).
From the living room one of those cat 5e wires goes to the switch by the tv. the other one goes upstairs to the 7 port switch.
From the 7 port switch it goes to a pc, nas, multiple printers and to the wall outlet I'm having trouble with.

Plugging the same wires I use to plug the outlet into the 7 port switch into the modem and using the same wires to go from the outlet to a pc works.
But when I run these same cables trough the wall from the room the 7 port switch is in and then connecting the outlet again it doesn't work anymore.

As he has a vast collection of cars I think think Jeremy, Richard and James from The Grand Tour should choose 3 of their favorite cars in Deadmu5's collection and do a road trip across Canada in them, making sure though Richard doesn't crash

So you have satellite internet? You can't really expect much from satellite internet, so that's really the only explanation for your speeds. Not much you can do about it except wait for an actual ISP to run cables to you.

We save $120 a year having our own modem. Hell it took us less than a year to pay off the investment.

Its a bit f*cked up you need activeX to access your camera. What is the model and ill check on the debian mailing list for it.

IP scan your network and look for ip's you've not encountered.

If you find one, try browsing to it. Ip cam should have a web page where you can view its video feed.

Ip should be the one you found via angry ip scanner or whatever your dhcp server (most likely your router) has given to the camera. Router is most likely at 192.168.0.1

Connect just the PC and camera, then set your PCs IP as 192.168.1.something (Obviously not 100) and see if you see the camera. Then use its interface to change it to something in your router's range.

Yes, try connecting with a straight cable from a laptop / pc to the camera. You can not have another internet connection aswell btw (so disable wifi)

Yep the ISP has been brought into the loop, I just know the techs are usually not that good, just give you the whole "power cycle everything" speech and hope for the best, not used to dealing with people in the know, just confused housewives and the like.

The ISP is coming out tomorrow and I'll have a new router installed. But I just want to be throughout and check all possible angles incase its not a simple router issue.

Just now my WiFI network vanished which i was watching TV. It appears as though the LAN connections were "stable" at least in the sense that they didn't disconnect, they are still fluctuating as usual.

Normally just my computer. However you have to log in to last pass. My log in is only is valid for a certain amount of time before I have to re log in. So I have used it on my moms computer and I have used it on school computers. You just have to make sure you log out and a public machine. With School computers they only keep data while you are logged in. Once you log out, the computer reboot and deletes what you were working on, that just how EMU has it setup.

However @Cyracus brought up a good point. You have to connected to the Internets to use it. In my case, My phone is a trusted device, so I only have to use the two factor periodically to keep it connected. The only thing about last pass, is the usage on mobile is not free. I pay $12 a year to have it on my phone. A small price to pay if you ask me.

redanalog reacted to Lurick in A few questions about CCNA
A CCNA covers routing and switching concepts and some configuration. There is no linux-based converings in the CCNA at all. If you're looking for a Linux based cert then something like the RHCSA (Red Hat Certified System Administrator) is where you want to go. If you're interested more in how computers connect to a switch or router and talk to one another from Network A through a network to Network B then your CCNA is where you want to be but if you're looking at how Linux operates then something like a Red Hat cert is better suited for your studies and passion. Secondly, certificates are worth far more in the field than a bachelors or masters degree since most of those programs never give students a lot of hands on time whereas classes centered around the certs specifically target hands on and real world application.
