IP Camera Issues

redanalog

Pretty sure this is the right forum.

SO...trying to setup internal IP camera for my home, but no notes in the box and all help I can find is for windows.

I'm using Mac.

So, got the camera powered on and have no idea where to go from here and can't find anything useful.

Anyone got any ideas?

IP scan your network and look for ip's you've not encountered.

If you find one, try browsing to it. Ip cam should have a web page where you can view its video feed.

UPDATE:

its a szsinocam SN-IPC-5033SW-Wi-UK

Ip should be the one you found via angry ip scanner or whatever your dhcp server (most likely your router) has given to the camera. Router is most likely at 192.168.0.1

Router found. Two devices found between 0.2-1.255

No sign of the camera

A note on the box says IPADD 192.168.1.100

Could the fact my router is operating in 0.(1-255) range be affecting this?

Yes, try connecting with a straight cable from a laptop / pc to the camera. You can not have another internet connection aswell btw (so disable wifi)

Connect just the PC and camera, then set your PCs IP as 192.168.1.something (Obviously not 100) and see if you see the camera. Then use its interface to change it to something in your router's range.

so i got to manually assigning an ip and finally got to the screen

issue now is that the camera doesn't appear to be working with mac os well.

There is a .exe that needs to be installed to communicate with the camera.

Got a windows VM running now but it is working from 10.0 range (10.0.2.15)

Anyone know how to get that sorted out?

Go to network settings and manually set an IP address in the same range.
