Jerry1Gman got a reaction from Francisc Guardian in Security Hardware
Do you have a phone with Bluetooth?
Windows 7 has Bluetooth Proximity Lock Utility preinstalled. It automatically locks after the distance you specified and then automatically unlocks the computer when your phone gets back in range again.

Jerry1Gman got a reaction from Vitalius in Display Lag Database: 170 Display added
170 Displays in the Input Lag Database have just be added.
http://www.displaylag.com/display-database/
Using the Lag Tester Soomro rates the screens by "Excellent," "Great," "Okay" and "Bad," as defined here. All screens are listed by the variable of your choosing – brand, size, resolution, etc. – right here. The lag in question occurs due to additional processing by the display, which can cause a delay between your button presses and the results appearing on-screen.

Jerry1Gman reacted to Emperor_Piehead in 21.5" 1080p IPS LED $159.99
Well looking at the specs its a budget oriented monitor and it seems a little lacking since for $40 you can get there premium line at 23in.
A- Its only vga and hdmi which are both pretty meh
B- its glossy which is either a love or hate thing
C- Only tilt, no height, pivot, swivel
IMO I would save up for the Dell U2312HM since it packs a much bigger punch in the way of features and quality for about $200

Jerry1Gman got a reaction from Ethnod in PayPal denies teenager reward for finding website bug
Because he is under 18 years old, he did not qualify. However on its website, the Bug Bounty Program does not appear to have an age guideline.

What I learned is that Google, Facebook, Mozilla and PayPal hand out rewards for finding vulnerabilities, except for Microsoft. I guess M$ would go broke if they did!

Jerry1Gman reacted to Jimbo in 3D Printed Bullets
So it's basically a sabot that doesn't strip away from the LEAD SHOT creating the actual weight and inertia of the projectile. Also, the shell, powder and primer aren't exactly printable with a home device (as far as I know).
I see this more as interesting than frightening.

Jerry1Gman got a reaction from Peopie in Siri is featured in new Windows 8 Ad
"I'm sorry I can only do one thing at a time." "Should we just play Chopsticks?”
The commercial is a takeoff of Apple’s iPad Mini piano commercial. In the Microsoft version. Apple’s personal digital assistant Siri, all the while showing off the advantages of a Windows 8 tablet over the iPad.
When need more commercials camparing products, Linus

Jerry1Gman got a reaction from Pnudran in GIF Creator Sets Record Straight: It's Pronounced 'JIF'
Wilhite accepted a lifetime achievement award at the Webby's, which require winners to limit their acceptance speeches to five words.
"Instead of speaking his five words tonight, Steve is using his own invention to accept his award," Tumblr founder David Karp said in introducing him
English language calls for the hard G sound when before a soft vowel (i, e, or y). There are exceptions of course...
Think of giraffe, German, or analogy.
How where you pronouncing it this whole time?

Jerry1Gman got a reaction from dylandylandylan in TrueCrypt Containers are No Longer Hidden
Being that TrueCrypt volume files have file sizes that are evenly divisible by 512 and their content passes chi-squared randomness tests any ways. Is this going to be enough to convince you to create a hidden volume? I think we are due for another leap in encryption.
http://www.heraldonline.com/2013/05/20/4877135/data-inside-truecrypt-containers.html
For $999 the product page says that it can decrypt TrueCrypt, FileVault2, and PGP volumes in minutes.
Runs from a USB thumb drive and recovers passwords without installation on a target PC (Portable Version included)

Anyone got a grand so I can buy it and test it out? Maybe like $1500 so I can get an AMD card for faster decryption just to speed things up of course.
