If you don't love what you do for a living it will seem like a chore, which is what I'm getting from her whining about 80 hour work weeks. I worked seven days a week as a System Administrator for a company for 3 years (even worked on most holidays, several overnight implementations etc.) and I never complained because I loved doing it so much.
Again, if you don't love what you do, find something else to occupy your time.

Microsoft tried to be Google, but pulled it off with less tact and everyone ended up hating it.

Google is like the cool kid in class. He's not perfect, and he may have a shady record, but his charm keeps everyone liking him.

Microsoft is the fat kid who tries to be the cool kid and ends up tripping over his own shoe laces.

Its the nature of America's corporate culture, they need to turn profits within an unreasonably short time frame (monthly, quarterly, etc.). It may work for some business models for a while but eventually you will hit a wall where people won't be efficient enough to make the money within 40hr/week. Then investors might start looking at running shifts to stay open 24/7, then automation, then what? The profit chasing buck has to stop somewhere.

Its a model that won't work if you are planning to build a sustainable brand like say Elder Scrolls or Grand Theft Auto, great products like that don't happen overnight, they take years of careful planning and execution.
Naughty Dogs is a studio I don't care about, their products don't appeal to me because they seem rushed with little thought for details, similar to yearly EA releases.

Anyways, her fault for not understanding the studio she worked for all this time.

Do young tech enthusiasts ever bother asking themselves what they're watching?...this is a perfect example to me on why I just /eyeroll on tech youtubers and their associated fanbase

I stopped watching Tek Syndicate years ago because it was obvious there was no substantial, interesting content. The Tek shows were nothing more than Logan reading headlines and skimming sparse articles and spouting an opinion. No research on any of the topics nor any actual discussion or insight. Net neutrality topics used to be interesting, but he would never research how the legal process or guidelines work - he would just call everyone idiots. Wendell was the only one providing interesting insight, but that started to fade out as Logan's ego increased and I realized this just wasn't worth my time to watch

And for months (back when I watched, years ago), he never bothered to improve in any area. He just grew in ego as being the "correct opinion" as his channel grew. The Tek started turning into soapboxing to his own fanbase (further feeding his ego), and spouting "I don't have time for haters" at any form of criticism. The last word I would ever use to describe him would be "professional". So it's absolutely no surprise it all blew up now. Some people just aren't leadership material - it doesn't matter if you have the fanbase/followers.

Again - what does he actually provide? Does anybody ever stop to ask what is interesting about his content? Or do they just blindly watch because it's tech related? There are so many tech youtubers out there that have completely shallow content to me, but people keep watching and I just don't understand why. PcPer provides the best technical discussion, Linus provides the best variety and interesting tech, and Hardware Canucks provides the best critical yet informative reviews on any non-cpu/gpu review. What does TekSyndicate provide?

I tried to read Logans post but how it comes off as if it is someone who got caught with his hand in the cookie jar and now is trying to explain his way out as to why he is taking an extra cookie after everyone has gotten their cookies for the night.

I too understand and appreciate the underdog stance, when me and my friends were building our rigs in 2014, they all chose AMD but I couldn't because there weren't any good MATX boards since I needed a smaller rig. I rock their GPUs though because they age like fine wine and I don't have the cash to upgrade every year or two.

If you're going to go as high as a 1070 you might as well just spring for the i7. With DX12 and Vulcan being able to utilize more cores/threads it wouldn't hurt in the long run.

Just tested with the newest patch and newest Nvidia driver. Stuttering and performance issues seem completely gone, CPU usage is like half of what it was, GPU is also not stressed as much yet a lot more stable. It looks weird since launching takes a lot longer now and is extremely choppy but in game is actually fairly ok now.

    Graphics settings dont do anything
FOV cant be change even tho theres a setting for it
game is laggy even tho graphics are meh
Very bad UI desing choice, too consoly even for consoles.
Every planet i visited was pretty much the same with a few differences, every planet has the same stuff, it just might look a bit different and colored

As someone said ""the ocean can be millions of km big but only a few cm deep""

if you want a space game , i recommend getting Elite : Dangerous since its much cheaper and theres more to do , also it has multiplayer.

For cars you could get a Zentorno or find a regular Sultan and convert it to a Sultan RS (the noise it makes is much like a Boxer Engine if your into that sort of thing)

FOV can be changed. You can force it even higher in the game's INI file. Otherwise the game requires a restart for every graphics setting change, so you won't notice differences unless you completely restart. Even for resolution. Very annoying.

As for the game... I hate it. There's just absolutely nothing to do. Even if you find yourself on an interesting looking planet, there's nothing different to do there than the last planet you were on. The combat sucks and feels like an afterthought rather than something fun. The survival elements seem tacked on to keep you constantly mining stuff so you can keep refilling your life support (ugh).

I don't know why I bought it. I guess because all my friends bought it and were talking about it so I had to check it out for myself. I wish I didn't.

Well that settles it for me, I'll save the 60 bucks for something else. Game looks great but the execution let it down.

It appears that the major stuttering is fixed. I only have microstutters now that for some reason go away when I use an Xbox controller... Mouselook issue maybe?

EDIT: After the patch it seems to be holding up a steady 60 fps. Occasional stutter but that's likely due to the procedural generation of stuffs.

It's just an ass game overall right now. Gameplay is shallow and performance is garbage. Why would anyone pay 60 bucks for that.

I pre-ordered it yesterday. Won't be home until tonight. I'm interested in trying it out. I see a lot of bad reviews as well. But i'll judge how the game is within the first 2 hours. I would imagine they would resolve any issues that gamers are having as soon as they can. But from what I understand they are a small shop of developers. So they are probably moving as fast as they can. I'm watching a few twitch streamers and it appears to be running fine.

So after a little farting around with voltages, I left the one with the higher voltages alone and bumped the better one up just a little, both are set to 1360mhz and are pinned through benches without any throttling. Here is my latest score in 3dmark. Edit: Memory is at 8800mhz effective as well.
