I have an MKV video and i need to convert the audio codec from DTS to AC3. I am using handbrake to do this. My MKV is a 4K film but the dimensions are not true 4K (3840 x 2160).

Instead the dimensions of the video are 3840 x 1608. I want to know what to put in the dimensions field of the output video. Should I leave it as it is or should i change it to (3840 x 2160).

Please let me know what to do. Thanks

uhhhmmmm, where are you getting a 1608p video from?

So I recently bought a Xbox one s along with a Dell gaming monitor (https://www.dell.com/en-us/member/shop/dell-27-gaming-monitor-s2716dg/apd/210-agjr/monitors-monitor-accessories?gacd=9614064-1014-5761040-0-0&dgc=st&gclsrc=aw.ds&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIyKP96_m15wIVxZyzCh2eZgXjEAAYASAAEgJzp_D_BwE).

Apparently, the monitor only supports 60hz when used with HDMI. For anything over that (120, 144hz) it needs to be used with displayport.

Any suggestions on how I can achieve this?

Your best bet would be with an active adapter between your xbox and monitor, but im not even sure if that will work.

That will be a nice solid performer for the price, and ready to jump up in performance later with simple upgrades. I would run it just as it is (along with your added storage) until you need more performance and know where you want to upgrade.

Yep! I wanted to have a strong upgrade path, and this bad boy should give me a nice a reliable one.

Red flag will be the PSU

yellow flag (not as bad as red but still) for the case, cuz lack of airflow.

Only thing really good is 16GB RAM setup, pretty much dont need to upgrade before DDR5 replaces DDR4 in the consumer market.

Yeah, took that into account. To help deviate the risk, Im going to place a fan over the PSU, just to help with overheating, and that'll be the first to be replaced. As far as the case goes, Im not toooo concerned with that, but i'll also replace that at some point.

  6. Hey LTT Community! For my birthday, my parents originally wanted to buy be a 1440p 144hz gaming monitor, but I managed to stop them, by telling them my Lenovo Yoga 730 isnt going to be pushing out anything past 1080p at 60hz or 2160p at 25hz. Instead, they are letting me use $200 from what they would spend and $200 of my own george washingtons to get a system. Immediately, my brother went to Reddit for some deals, and found an i7,2600 with some stuff for 400. I went to craigslist and found this bad boy for $325. Parts are like $525 on PCPartpicker, so def a good deal. Any red flags, and what should i upgrade first? Also, I have 2x1TB 7200RPM HDDs which I plan on sticking into the computer in a raid0 configuration for extra  s p e d while loading up all of the content in my "homework" folder. Any thoughts?

  7. Hey all! As my first semester of School is coming to an end, I have realized that I no longer need the Windows-Only utilities which are on my computer, and I can finally move back to linux. I have used Backbox before, but I was also looking at ParrotOS. Note: I will not be accepting Kali Linux as an answer as it is hot doodoo and I am not even touching that even with a 100 foot pole. Anyways, any recommendations?

I cant connect to the internet or use the browser without kali freezing , its a fresh instal of kali. Its on a lenovo legion y530 laptop with windows 10 dualbooted on it.

I tried to update the system but it keeps giving me the systemd.service failed to connect error and cant seem to update.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

Holy sheet DO FUCKING NOT use kali as your daily driver. Everything (and i mean everything) is run as root, so you're one

    sudo rm -rf /*

away from destroying your linux filesystem forever.

EDIT: If you want to do something with penetration testing, I recommend Backbox linux. It is based off of Ubuntu, keeps you from shooting your machine with a shotgun (figuratively, definitely not literally), and has more tools than Kali to my knowledge. Source? Me, myself, and I. I've used both Kali and Backbox, and I enjoy Backbox a lot more.

  9. Just a few weeks ago, I reinstalled Windows 10 on my lenovo yoga, and Ive had problems ever since then. On Backbox linux, my cpu would never get above 10-15%, but now my cpu is ALWAYS at like 100% when I open up task manager when its running hot. Right after, it drops to abut 70%, but its always some bs windows process. Any recommendations to make it run better?

i wanna bypass region lock on spotify but im not sure if its worth getting a vpn, what happens and is it worth it. and can i use the vpn on my phone so i can download the songs, and then when the vpn is off will i still ave access to the songs? can anyone help me?

If you use a vpn to download the songs, and then disable network access for Spotify, it shouldn't give you any troubles. I recommend that you use ProtonVPN for a free VPN (same people for ProtonMail) or NordVPN/PIA for a paid VPN.

seriously doubt this will go anywhere. Like trying to sue Intel for their 9980XE pricing when the 10980XE  is half the price but performs slightly better. I wonder if he'd sue his brother for his "illegal profits too" if he could, i wouldnt bet on it though.

Also the bend radius for that thing is horrible. And why do we need five bikini models all squeezed into frame to show off the phone in an advertisment? I know sex sells but come on. What is this a early 2000's hip hop song?

    boobs. that is the key

    ok now into the news

Roberto Escobar, brother of the late drug lord Pablo Escobar, has announced a foldable smartphone to take on Samsung's Galaxy Fold and Huawei Mate X, the Escobar Fold 1.

I think it is nice for someone to take on these brands.

    Quote

While all the foldable phones announced so far have a price tag of at least $1,500+, the Escobar Fold 1 will be available from only $349 which includes free shipping and a case as well. It will be sold unlocked and work on all compatible networks worldwide. This makes it cheaper than other non-foldable flagship smartphones available in the market right now.

I'm actually looking for a new phone, so im definitely going to buy this lmao. If you are wondering, "Why would you trust someone like this with making a phone?"

    Quote

The drug lord's brother has been able to price the phone so low by cutting out the middlemen like networks and retailers. He is also preparing to file a $30 billion class-action lawsuit against Apple for scamming people and wants the company to "give some of their illegal profits back to the people".

Es bueno senor. I feel like if this goes anywhere, the money will either be donated to charity or into development of the phone.

    Quote

Like the Huawei Mate X, the Escobar Fold can be unfolded to turn it into a tablet with a screen size of 7.8-inches. The expanded AMOLED display has a 4:3 aspect ratio and an FHD+ resolution. The design language is different from the Samsung Galaxy Fold which features two separate displays, one of which folds.

OOOOOOO. Very nice, more than decent, exceptional! Now lets look at the specs:

    Quote

The full specs of the Escobar Fold 1 are as follows:

    Display: 7.8-inch FHD+ foldable AMOLED

    Chipset: Octa-core 2.8GHz Snapdragon 855

    GPU - Adreno 640

    Camera: 16MP f/1.8 + 20MP f/1.8, OIS

    RAM: 6/8GB LPDDR4X

    Storage: 128/512GB, microSD card slot

    Battery: 4,000mAh

    Connectivity: dual-SIM, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi ac, USB-C

    OS: Android 9.0

OwO thats pretty nice. Kind of sad there is no Android 10, but 9 is fine and i'd even be happy with an update down the line.

Overall, I like this phone, and I'm definitely going to buy one. Wouldn't be surprised if Linus has already ordered one lol.

I disagree. Phones, even mid range ones, can easily last 5 years, if your needs are unchanged. A battery replacement is possible for under 100$. You want an example, my mother still uses and like my old phone, the original first gen Moto G.

My dad still uses his iphone 6, and with the current path of essential, i feel like my ph-1 will last at least until 1 or two years into college. The snapdragon 635 is more than enough for everyday use and even gaming. The battery isn't lasting as long anymore (only for 6ish hours now), but  plan on replacing that soon. In comparison, my brother bought a galaxy s8 for my mom and a galaxy s8+ for himself a month before the release of android 10. guess who didn't get android 10 even though my phone and theirs are comparable in specs and arguably mine even a bit better.

At least the 717s will be kicking around for a little bit. I suppose the 717 is to the DC-9 what the 737 MAX or NG is to the 737 Original Series: a rather modified and stretched airplane of the same fundamental design.

Actually, the 717 was designed my McDonnell Douglas, and it was the next plane in the series. Then delta bought them out and renamed it lol.
