In the UK we wouldn't waste police time with a petty civil dispute such as this, and I'm fairly sure most people in the USA probably wouldn't either. As I already said if he had told her that she was being denied service she would have gone batshit.
In truth whether or not his actions were entirely to the book, he diffused a messed up situation quickly and efficiently which in the end is all that matters. I dont really see how the particulars of whether or not his actions followed the Librarians 10 Commandments are relevant to the story.

Ok, This is my first post guys, I have a few stories to add to this thread. I have been revising for my A-Levels at the local library (uk bro) and I have discovered that this is where people who dont have computers come to use them.

First Story - There was a lady who came in and was trying to read her emails. she clicked on one of them and then couldnt work out how to get back to her inbox. One of the library staff came over and showed her how, then about 5 minutes later she did it again. The whole time this was going on her three kids were running around the library pissing everyone off. The third time the guy came down to fix her emails he asked her to keep her kids under control, she went super sassy with him and was being really rude. A minute later she calls him down again and says "It says ive been kicked from my session by an admin, what does that mean?" he replies "Oh we are having problems with the computers, you'll have to come back another day".
I give him a knowing grin as sassy and the devil children depart.

Second Story - Lady about 30 comes in, no spare tables so comes and sits down opposite me. Professional looking, clearly had a decent job. Pulls expensive looking Toshiba laptop out of her bag then plugs the power cord into the wall. Before plugging the laptop into the wall she took the battery out of the back. She clearly believed that t use it with wall power she had to take the battery out, which makes me wonder how she charges the battery in he first place.

Third Story (actually a win) - There is this really old guy (70+) who comes in and sits there swearing at the computer under his breath for like two hours then leaves. I got curious as to what he was actually doing and so I looked over. He was reading some stuff about cray supercomputers. Turns out this guy is actually a complete boss and knows exactly what hes talking about. He was swearing at the shitty library computers because they are pentiums and slow as shit. We spent 15 minutes debating whether AMD and their moar coars approachor intel and their performace/core approach was the future.

the amd fx 8350. cheap, but will crush a i5 in multi threaded, and will generally outperform a i5 in gaming as well. and overclocks like a beast.

As Someone who has only just started using this forum today, despite watching linus' videos for like 2 years, I have to admit I am absolutely dumbfounded by this thread.
This thread has managed to intelligently debate the pros and cons of Intel and AMD cpus for 20 replies without turning into a fanboy flame war or an AMD or Intel circlejerk.
Thank you Linus Tech Tips forums for somewhat restoring my faith in humanity.

In order to contribute, Ill say that I have an FX8350 running at 5ghz that performs as well as an ivy bridge i7. The FX's are very overclockable so if you are confident in that area and have good cooling this might the route for you, especially in a gaming rig where you can then funnel that £100 into your graphics card.
