RJF049 reacted to TheSLSAMG in Best Graphics Card for $250. Will update Price as I get money
Or get an ex-mining R9 290, that is if one is okay with taking the risk.

RJF049 reacted to Cacao in 7970 CF or something else for 144hz display
Oh and this, needs to die. People spew this out whenever a multi GPU question comes up. Sure you can apply it to many cases, but it's not the answer to everything. Sometimes a multi GPU configuration just makes sense.

RJF049 reacted to totjup5 in 660ti vs 760?
I've got a couple 3 GB 660tis and they destroy every game I play at 1440p fluid 60+ fps in bf4 maxed out! I do have golden chips though, with no manual overclocking gpu boost runs one of them at 1370 mhz on the core and 1420 mHz on the other. 660ti is an awesome card! -

RJF049 reacted to Unhelpful in To the 770/80/80ti/Titan owners
Uh... No. Technology has slowed to down to pretty much a halt, its no longer true that cards become irrelevant after a year. For example, a 580 is still a monster of a card. If I stay at 1080p for the next couple years there will be literally ZERO reason to upgrade from a 780. I've been into computers for a long time, I've seen generations come and go, been watching them since the PCX4300 and Radeon 9200 SE days.. I wont need an upgrade for quite some time, given how much advancement in both the games and the hardware has slowed down.
Although admittedly I might throw in a second 780. But that will be in at least 2 generations or more. Like I did with my 470s, which were able to max out every 1080p game I played aside from crysis 3 and the witcher 2.

RJF049 reacted to NJM1112 in Would you serve if you got drafted in World War 3???
This is not a simple question at all. The ramifications involved here are HUGE. Too many little questions ifs and buts.
Would I fight for my country? Hell Yes.
Would I fight for what America is today? Fuck No.

RJF049 reacted to Fred Castellum in Would you serve if you got drafted in World War 3???
Go and fight while the politicians who made the "Ok" to start shooting sits snug in their congressional seats and watches from afar? I think not.... It highly depends on what the war is about, and I'm not falling for watered down propaganda.
If I'm going to put my life on the line it'll be for my ideals, If I'm forced to go to war I'd only be there to make sure the guys next to me don't go down.

RJF049 reacted to Bluuz in Best Looking 780Ti
IMO, all the cards look great this generation.
The reference cooler is a work of art.
The evga one looks really clean and simple, a huge improvement from the old "box blowers".
The new windforce is a huge improvement over last gen's windforce (and they got rid of the blue pcb).
Likewise, Asus' asymmetrical design and familiar color scheme (and finally 2 slots) looks much better too.
Twinfrozr 4 I liked better in blue, seems like they're treading into Asus territory. The lightning would have looked great if they threw out the yellow fan in the middle.

RJF049 got a reaction from TheNinjaNextDor in asus rampage iv black edition vs asus p9x79 e ws
Unless you are using 3 or four graphics cards, neither. They are both a tad overkill for most users. I would go with the P9x79 deluxe and update the bios. However, if you must choose one of the two $500 boards, go with the WS one. It'll do everything the Rampage can do just as well and it has better heat sinks and overall is made closer to server grade components. Plus, once the board is in the case with ram, gpu, cpu cooler, you don't every even see the motherboard very well anyways lol.

RJF049 got a reaction from Guest in Silverstone Tj11 for only $399.99!
I'd say it makes more sense to spend money on a quality all aluminum/metal case that will last you for all future builds rather than spending 400+ on a video card that is outdated in a year or less. But most people seem okay to drop obscene money on GPU's but scoff at quality cases from Silverstone or Lian Li.

I finally acquired my dream case: The SIlverstone TJ11. Ever since I saw it in Linus' ultimate water cooling guide, i knew that was the case that i could die with. I absolutely love Silverstone's cases. I used to use the Raven RV02 and that thing was sweet. Passed it on to a buddy and he loves it too. The 90 degree motherboard lets his HEAVY GTX 580 DirectCU hang without any sagging.
Anywho, right now, my system is on my test bench while i acquire the rest of the water cooling parts.
Spec list:
Asus P9X79 WS

16 gb Corsair Dominator Platinum 1600mhz

Asus Xonar Essence STX
Corsair AX750
Intel 520 120 gb ssd
Seagate Barracuda 2 TB
Here is the TJ11 with the reservoir.

The fittings I'm using are bitspower black sparkle..i think..i got then a while back lul. Plus a whole bunch of random barb fittings and angles which i hope i dont need to use.
I am actually not using these radiators. I am going to use a 480 and a thinner 120. The 120 in the picture is pretty thick and almost touches the ram in the case. It hides too much of the Motherboard. I am going to go with these radiators.
