What specific model is it?
I would say generally those specs go for 800 - 900 EU.

It would be from whenever he brought it, Jan of 2016. I'm assuming it might have a 1 year warranty in which case he's two months past.
OP, if the warranty just ended, you could still call up the manufacturer, sound like an irate customer about your laptop breaking 2 months after warranty, and they might fix it.

What's the model? We can't tell you much aside from that. Also, if the screen is at all damaged, your laptop's worth has degraded considerably just from that.

Clevo, damaged screen... Maybe $600 at best.

Sadly yes, it's something that happens fairly often. Probably EMI of some kind. Impedance has nothing to do with it.
As for the cable; no.

Koss PortaPro is a definite step up in terms of sound quality vs the Sennehsier HD20x. Plus, you get a lifetime warranty.

Hhmm..well, if you're okay with another Sennheiser, there is the Sennheiser HD 202. I am not sure of its price there though. I am also looking at the Altec Lansing Kickback and Evolution headphones, mainly because they have inline volume and mic controls. If you really want budget, there is the Sennheiser HD 180 (which looks almost like the HD 201), but I don't think they're available in all markets.

Monoprice 8323
Surprisingly low distortion for a headphone in the price range, these have decent build quality, a removable cable, and fold for easy transport. While the sound is hardly amazing, it is a cut above most headphones in the price range and would make a beater headphone for gaming or taking on the go.
Superlux HD668B (semi-open)
Distinctly V-shaped sound signature. Lots of treble, mid-bass boost. Not recommended if sharp highs are an issue. Removable (male on headphones) 3.5mm cables, not compatible with boompro without an adapter.
Superlux HD681 (semi-open)
Very balanced sound for the price, though still slightly bright. Non removable cable.
Superlux HD-681 EVO
Nice bass-head headphones on the cheap, though lacking sub-bass extension. Craptastic upper-mids. Removable (male on headphones) 3.5mm cable, not compatible with boompro without an adapter.

both the Zero Audio Tenore and E10 are known for being good budget in ear headphones. I would not recommend a bass version, because that can easily be some beats like in ear when it comes to sound.

Yes, yes you can. Just that you may run out of space much more quickly. But you can always add a HDD down the road.

Get that Moto G. I would recommend the 2GB version, but the prices in EU are overkill for it so just get that one.
Ignore anything made by Alcatel would be my honest opinion after using several of them and friends buying them.
You would be much better off with something made by Meizu or Xiaomi than anything from Alcatel.

Xiaomi Piston 3s. They are a worthy upgrade to the Piston 2s and are 34 dollars American I believe. XP

I bought my Sennheiser MX375 today. They're dirt cheap for what they are. Recommended.

Zero Audio Carbon Tenore or Basso (slightly bassier as the name implies):
