I wanted to post an update on this. I've completed the project. I bought and received my outdoor rated Cat6 cable yesterday and installed it. Went well. Was easy to do (really wish I did this a while ago). I also want to thank you guys for the insight - the video, in particular, was extremely helpful.

I think you should reconsider the overall question.

First, what are you attempting to accomplish? Increased security or basic set up? I think in either of these cases, this question is too narrow in scope.

Yup, I ran mine partially outside due to this.

If going through inside the house isn't an easy option your next best will be to do it from the outside:
Make sure it's outdoor rated cable though.

Correct.  If you connected the second router via the WAN port then your wireless clients will be behind a NAT layer towards router 1.  If you use the LAN interface then everyone will be on the same broadcast domain/network.

If you're rolling the router approach you probably want to give it a static LAN address different than the first one and disable DHCP just on the second router.

Many wireless routers can be switched to Access Point only mode, do that.
You want only one router, and it usually has to be just behind your modem unless you have a special ISP plan.

Double NAT is usually not advised, unless you only use the LAN ports of your second router.  Then it's not performing routing functions but is a switch with an access point.

That filter looks like a PITA, and those are completely ineffective against any sort of attacker.

Yeah, this is pretty awesome. I've recently installed one of their performance kits and buyers should be aware that installing these kits is not nearly as simple as installing an AIO. Very different experience in fact. That said, it's an awesome kit and opportunity for folks who want to take the time but can't do the cost.

It's when you take your turn and close the game app. When your opponent takes their turn, the game notifies you and you re-open the game to take your turn.  In outwitters, you have 4 days to take a turn before you forfeit.  Conversely, hearthstone is turn based but you must watch and wait in real time as your opponent takes their turn. This works, of course, for hearthstone but sometimes I don't have 15 - 25 minutes to play out a full game. Async games allow you to play as you have time but against real people instead of AI.

Sorry, I didn't see it mentioned. Apologize but sometimes folks miss obvious things and unless they are asked it goes assumed and thus solved much later than otherwise.

Unless you're concerned about the temps you are seeing, who cares? EK says 1-degree difference and the temps are good, leave it.

If it still concerns you, you can flip it at the next time you drain the system for something else but given the info on hand, I wouldn't drain it just to change it around. Perhaps when replacing the coolant but not just for that.

    Hey everyone,
I just wanted to thank every that posted here to help me out/ show off my rig. lol. I just finished my custom loop and absolutely love it. I ran it over night to check for leaks and I have found none. I have yet to overclock as I am running benchmarks post loop with a stock config (really just to have those numbers). But my cpu under load is 52 degrees C. My gpu's are 42 and 39 under load. Again those numbers are all pre oc.

    Thanks again.

So EK's new all aluminum/alluminium kits  are looking pretty cool. Just remember you can only use aluminum with it. No other metals allowed.

As for transporting the PC. You're going to want to drain the loop for travel anyways, just because of the added weight.
If you go with soft tubing, then that'll be even less of a worry than if you did a rigid tubing build.

But that's where things get complicated. if you want to go with EK's new aluminum parts to keep weight down, you'll need to be extra careful when looking for additional fittings to make filling and draining of the loop easier. If you want to add things like valves and junction fittings to make dedicated fill/drain/vent ports in the loop, then they will have to be aluminum just like everything else. And right now, I'm not sure if EK is offering parts like that.

FrankV got a reaction from Zando_ in Considering a watercooled system
You're supposed to drain the loop before traveling with it.

I will say, if you are leaving university, you might want to just build a standard air cooled system. Get settled post school and then convert it to water cooled with non-aluminum parts after the fact. I think the non-aluminium parts offer better reusability over the course of projects....

Besides, if you plan on waiting 6 months to a year, you might be able to reallocate budget a bit and alter your build in otherwise. Water cooling is great, don't get me wrong, but if you do it, I think you should do it well (non-cheap). At least, this has been my mentality and while I've know sunk around $550 on water cooling parts, it's very effective and looks nice.
