Doughnutnator reacted to Levent in Upgrade 3070 to 3080 for $350 (high Hz 1080)
To be completely honest, I dont see any reasons for upgrading here. 3070 to 3080 is an upgrade but for I am not sure if its worth $350, I would suggest waiting for newer cards to be released before considering to upgrade.

CPU might be becoming the limiter (depending of the game). And agree with Levent.

What benefit do you think the 3080 will give above the 3070? is this benefit worth it?
Going from 230 to 260 fps, for example. Not worth it to me. Is it to you?
It's your money, your time. Only you can really know what is value to you.

Given that it's already so extremely hard to see a difference between 144hz and 240hz screens I would not even bother thinking about an upgrade like this.

Doughnutnator reacted to Fasauceome in Trade B85m for Z87?
25 bucks for a maximus board is a great deal, I can guarantee you'd not get a better price, even after selling your current motherboard and netting the total. Z87 is an overclock chipset, and Asus boards are very high quality. If it hasn't been damaged, it's a great trade.

Doughnutnator got a reaction from Shreyas1 in RX 480 sacrifice for upgrade
For an used 1070 yeah, if Vega 56 brings the same or more performance, with OC headroom and brand new for $400 I would really be tempted to get it.

Doughnutnator got a reaction from RypeDub in money
One tip if no one said it: Try building ultra budget (console like budget) gaming PC's for people who want to get into PC Gaming but doesn't want to spend time building or learning how to build and how does it work.
I could easily count 10 friends in my classroom that want a gaming PC but doesn't know how. People are incredibly lazy, and they would rather spend a little bit more to get everything done instead of researching and building it by themselves.
You could try with that market. Or like everyone said, small simple cheap computers for those neighbours and also support to fix everything.
As I can imagine you will need to know lots of activators/toolkits to activate Windows/Microsoft Products, usually people that need support doesn't know how to fix things and they aren't willing to spend money in a geniune OS, it's sad but it's true. If you need some help hit me a PM, I know a few that are quite good, I use them when I do PC support.
Also get ready to learn some troubleshooting, and to disinfect PC's. I think that if you put all of that together, with a small initial investment you have very high chances of success.
Good luck hope you show us your new things with your profits soon.

Doughnutnator got a reaction from Tech Inquisition in Windows 10 Anniversary Update - Here is everything you need to know - OUT NOW!
Thanks for the info. Updated today, then used "disk cleanup" to delete all the garbage on my SSD. Got 20GB free, all my files and programs work like they used to.
So far so good, tested benchmarks and I get expected performance, boot time is amazing now, just like when I clean installed W10 for the first time.
Hope it works for everyone, seems their update waves are good enough, I live in Mexico and got the update today in the morning (just decided to install it later to check everything) Hope things keep like this, improving.

Doughnutnator got a reaction from DocSwag in First programmable Quantum Computer
Lol yeah
I find all this quantum thing super interesting, sadly I don't know much.
Like someone said, they're used for statistics and that stuff, but i'm pretty sure that we will somehow find the way to crunch numbers with them and use their potential. Let's remember that the first PC's were giant calculators, now they're meme-makers.
