New 144hz monitor problem

rtorr724

So I just got the ASUS VG248QE and when using the dual link dvi cable included, it looks like this https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-VGuM270sc68/Vl4OQvXfg3I/AAAAAAAANs4/5jpmTB4hI2w/w494-h658-no/2015-12-01.jpg

Idk how to fix it or if its the cable thats bad, any help would be appreciated!

this monitor should be hooked through HDMI or ideally, display port.

Make sure its connected properly by tightening the screws on the cable. If that does not fix it, try using a hdmi cable lying around, and see if the colors get fixed hdmi wont support 144hz, but it will be fine to test the colors)

The hdmi version on that monitor does not support anything over 1080p 75hz.

The monitor included is intended to working with the refresh rate the monitor is capable of.

I got a normal DVI cable to output properly, so is the dual link cable bad?

i would just not bother and get a display port, the cables are not very expensive
