Which PSU?

Rainbrew

Just curious whether a Vero M1 600W by Silentium is a decent PSU or if a Thermaltake Smart SE Modular 530W is a better choice. I don't have the money for an r9 380 4gb and a beefier powersupply to replace the dinosaur I'm running now and in my country the GTX 960 4gb is a decent bit cheaper and is less power hungry. Thanks in advance!

Both PSUs are absolutely terrible. If you want to kill your PC that is the fastest way to do it.

if 960 is cheaper go for it but get a 2GB model - 4GB 960 is bottlenecked by the 128-bit bus

Neither is a good choice. Check out the PSU whitelist in my signature for good options.

No it isn't, we been through this before. All 4GBs are available to the bus. Ask @TheSLSAMG

Think he means because of the bus, it can't use it all efficiently.

Available yes - bottlenecked as well. You can use them but a 256-bit bus would yield vast performance improvements as the card is bandwidth starved

Upon some browsing seems like the xfx xxx 650w is going to be what I'll be picking up. From what I'm aware I could probably even run a 280x on that. Is the htx 960 4gb really THAT bad? I don't think it's too horrible for 1680x1050...

You could run two 280Xs on 650W. And yes, the 960 will be fine provided that a 380/380x/280x isn't cheaper.
