Do you really need an SSD adapter?

ZV-

I'll be getting the Samsung 850 evo but do I need an adapter with that one?

if you mean a ssd bracket, if you case is old, you might need one. Otherwise no, most likely you will need one(the evo does not include a SSD bracket)

It uses standard SATA ports, no need for an adapter unless you're putting it in a weird laptop port or adapting to M.2

Ah okay, I'll be getting the Fractal Design R5 which means that I probably won't be needing one. :)

Do you mean a bracket or do you mean like a cable ?

If you mean bracket: if your case does not feature 2.5" bays you need a 3.5" to 2.5" bracket to properly install it, but since an SSD does not feature moving parts it will not vibrate so you could just set it down somehere in your case too.

If you mean cable: your PSU should feature the correct SATA power. For the SATA itself: I dont think it comes with a cable for that, so i you dont have one anymore (they come with your motherboard too) or if it's too short: you need to get one of those.

You don't NEED one..I had my MX100 just kinda hanging above a HDD sled since it didn't come with a bracket.
