4:3 TV or a device?

mattonfire

I would like a TV at the end of my bed, because it's nicer than sitting at my desk. I have an iPad which can run safari so I can access videos online. I was wondering if I should get a 4:3 ratio tv to suit my ipad or get a device or miniture cheap computer like a zotac which I can connect to my TV so I can watch things online.

You could always get a compute stick. It has worked just fine for me.

Oooo, I do like the look of that, yeah I will go with that.

Your ipad will output video over HDMI or AirPlay at 16:9 1080p, so I'd recommend a 16:9 TV.

Dregy I am going the compute stick, it would probability be better. Less compatibility issues, you know Apple...

I know Apple yes, and there's no way an Apple iPad is going to be very compatible with a Linux or Windows PC.

That said the Compute Stick is a cool piece of tech, but to watch things online AND be compatible with an iPad you'd be better of getting an Apple TV and mirroring and streaming straight from your iPad.

If you get a compute stick you'll need a wireless keyboard + mouse too. Not that that's a bad thing, but it's a caveat. VLC remote would be an app to invest in as well.

I got a spare xbox controller, I could get a dongle for that as there is a usb slot and a virtual keyboard.

EDIT: I am not a xbox gamer before I am judged, it's my brothers. He has 5 :P
