Not correct. There is a 144Hz IPS monitor.

Building my 16 year old cousin something like http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/494644-i-have-been-sent-on-a-mission-to-complete-a-gaming-rig-workstation-by-monday-night-need-help-boys/   what was suggested there.  Waiting until Monday to buy the parts, save those deals I can snipe.

 

I have prime and new egg premier.

I need to get him a 144hz monitor but I honestly would be an asshole getting him a TN.  I'd like to spend 250-350ish max.  It can be 24in but no smaller and no larger than 27in.

 

Anyone want to break down what's available and give me a few monitors to research before pulling the trigger.

 

Spoonfeed me, fam.  I am losing my mind!

Giving him a 27" 1080p monitor would be an asshole thing to do TBH.

I recommend the Dell U2414H (60 Hz tho)

Don't lie to me.  I know something is going on sale for a great price with the new technology that just came out (for lack of better words).

 

Give me 5 to research.  The last monitor I bought was a 4k, close to 12 months ago then  I got myself a TN 144hz for gaming.  I have no clue about monitors anymore, I think.  Just spoonfeeeeeeeeed me

He is very insistent about having 144hz.  I understand, as a gamer (dota2/csgo) it's the way to go.  For other tasks not so much.

 

He plays e-sports games and is 16, what to get boys?

You can forget an IPS 144Hz display at that price point. Not going to happen.

 

If I were you I'd go for something like the Asus VG248QE. Excellent 144Hz TN monitor.

Needed to hear that.  Going to grab him a TN 144hz (the 200$ asus I think).  His parents can spoil him with a ultrawide 4k for x-mas
