Best Headphones to get for Christmas

13lake_mahaff

I'm looking at getting new headphones for Christmas since my current one are $5 pieces of junk, i like to play CS-GO and i am Gold Nova 1

I'm looking at the Hyper x cloud 1 and 2 but don't know if the 7.1 is worth the extra money.

Anyone got any suggestions.

or should I go with regular headphone and get a separate mic like the mod mic 4.0.

keep in mind i do live in Australia so prices are different

You should get Superlux HD668Bs with AKG K240 velour pads and a modmic.

Amazon. They're like $55 there I think.

If you want a gaming headset from the ground up then the Clouds are about as good as it gets.

Audio Technica ATH-M30X. dont fall for the "gaming headset" thing, get a good pair of headphones and a $5 mic and you will be better off.

Those are quite expensive here and a bit out of my budget.

Well you do, but a check of the AU website shows no hyper x clouds... Why does the AU website suck? Anyways, the Clouds are pretty good. They use the same drivers as Gemini/Takstar/etc and are very well known for providing a good sound signature.

M30Xs are worse than Clouds.... the drivers in Clouds are far superior and have a much less "colored" sound than the M30Xs. The M-series Audio Technicas are MASSIVELY overhyped.

Well you do,

We only have amazon that sells kindle books, not anything else.

So if i go with the clouds is the extra money worth it for 2 with 7.1?

Don't worry, $55 is $20~ more than the Superlux are worth anyway.

How much more is it? IMO, by the time you're paying for simulated surround sound you should be looking into open-back headphones.

The USB dongle is shit anyway, so you're better off with the original. The connectors are more useful for a pc anyway.

Is the Hyper X Cloud Core available?

They're the cheaper variant at most places.

Ah ok, missed that.

I'd get some AD500x with a mid-mic if you can go open back.

If not, then just go with the original Clouds.

r u sure abt that.. im no audiophile but i thought the clouds were like the "fake gaming headset"

No. Do any amount of research at all, and you'll find that the clouds are pretty much the only inexpensive gaming headset that's actually comparable to other headphones in the price range.

They're a good pair of drivers with a crap mic attached. Better than most gaming headsets which are shitty drivers with a shitty mic.

The AD500X's are over $180 so I think I'll go with the cloud but I just found out my budget it higher so I'll go with the cloud 2 unless you can find any better options that are the same price
