Today I managed to OC my GTX 970 G1 from Gigabyte to 1530MHZ , played Crysis 3 In Very High everything high and it scoped to 75degrees max...
is the afterburner lieing or is it me

110 pourcent is an overkill and the processing unit gets too much power and it goes unstable ..

I am running the stock bios , stock fans , the only cheat that i have upon my sleeve are the side fans of my corsair 600t , 2X Corsair 120sp pressing air on the gpu and 2x 120 Fractal case fans as exhaust

Well that's good. Consistency means it's probably accurate.

 That's GPU Boost. The GPU Clock shown is not the final maximum boost clock of the card. 

 

Either that or once your card hits a certain temperature it lowers the voltage and GPU clock slightly. All GTX 9xx cards do it. It doesn't fall under normal 'throttling' though.

It'll constantly feed the GPU say 1.212mV. It won't do any damage to the GPU but it's only really ideal for benchmarking since it helps to have a constant set voltage as opposed to a dropping voltage especially when loading the benchmark or next scene for example. 

 

If you don't know what it does, read up on the internet and see if it you need or if it works for you.
