PrimalNaCl Hits #1 spot on LTT Folding

Since @PrimalNaCl doesn't post much (as far as I can tell), just wanted to let anyone here who doesn't follow the main team points page know that @ropesend has been overtaken as the overall folding points leader for LinusTechTips_Team

And they did it in a blistering 8 months, surpassing Ropesends' 303,468,928 in the stats file posted Tue Nov 24 16:20:43 PST 2015, with a ginormous 303,218,906 points!

AWESOME JOB PRIMAL! :D

I hope I'm not invading their privacy by telling everyone to PM Primal and say "Way to go!", "Congrat", or whatever. :)

<edit: added in graphic showing PrimalNaCl's new spot at #1 on the LinusTechTips folding team.

That is all.

Everyone has to start somewhere  :)

True! Currently completing my 7th WU! Think I'll be doing about 10-13 WU's a week, depending on how big they are. Glad to see everyone team up to battle these things!

11 or 12 million at the minute, i'd like to fold more but i can't spare the clock cycles at the minute, let alone a whole core. Maybe when i develop my folding rig. Seeing as i'm gonna go to an AMD GPU (depending what the new gen's are like), but my old 970 will be used as a folding-only GPU in a dedicated system.

If you have an older, but still capable card, and your winters aren't mild, might as well put that extra card to use as a room heater instead of wasting that electricity on a dumb one  ;)

i have two GTX480's, but i've sworn never to start them, the polar bears need a home

to be honest, the CPU on the folding rig would be enough to heat the room by itself, and my 970 is enough to trip the CPU fans into overdrive in my current setup once it gets up to full heat. Temps of 75-80 on CPU aren't uncommon as I run 3c on CPU and the GPU on maximum overdrive. inside of the case gets nice and toasty, like, 40C toasty, considering that the CPU can shunt out enough heat to push the temps up to the high 80's on a cold loop running burn test, it's a pretty good room heater

Nah, the polar bears would still have a home, they'd just get to vacation in the tropics without leaving their neighBearhood

As for the rig temps, yea that sounds plenty toasty without adding to it ! B)

I wonder how long it would take the 480's to dry my clothes hanging in the bathroom?

rig temps are expected to rise next summer with the addition of a 390X to the mix, temperatures are expected to rise into the high 80's during the day, and the sound of shrinking metal clicking and tinging may fall overnight as the almighty 390X cools off. No chance of winter this year, Jon Snow.

to be honest though, i will be getting either a 360mm Kelvin S36 or a 280mm Kraken X61, along with a 4790k. So Core heat output might not change, but work output will go up thanks to 4 extra threads for hitfilm to abuse and heat /should/ go down with a bigger radiator.. then again i'll probably just end up having 3 NF-F12-3000's running balls to the goddamn walls. It's bad enough at the minute, i estimate that my PC generates a few KN of downwards thrust when the board decides to go into maximum overdrive at one in the goddamn morning

Temps for the rig will decrease because it will be busy heating you up

once i have absorbed all of the heat form this rig, i will be UNSTOPPABLE

<image removed - it's a bit much to see it twice on the same page>

to be fair, temps will decrease because i'll move my folding over to a tiny little MATX air cooled case, where it can cook for all eternity (or until that little maxwell core gives out)

well, not quite tiny, Fractal Define Mini so it can sit near my big rig and look pretty

MORE POWWEERR

9 million c: May or may not have another system soon, maybe I can bug a friend enough for her to give me some old parts c:

I know of someone who has 2 480's that they aren't using  (hint hint @starcoaster B))

i won't part with them for the world. They're on display as beautiful masterpieces of rocket engine craftsmanship

Yea, I still have my ATI VGA Wonder - it's hiding in a dusty crate somewhere as an example of anti-utilitarian hordesmanship. :P
