$1000 AUD Gaming build

Killervolt

Hey guys, I'm helping my friend choose some parts for his first gaming PC. His budget is around $1000-1100 australian (au.pcpartpicker.com). He will be playing games, mainly FPS's at 1080p 60hz. He is one of those crazy gamers who care about looks, so his colour scheme is red. He would like an intel CPU and here's what I've planned so far. The power supply is not a mainstream one, but reviews look alright, and it's semi-modular. Thanks for your help

Btw, he is buying from MSY and Pccasegear only, just to minimize shipping costs.

Looks pretty solid man.

Good price for an AUD build!

Your PSU isnt on the whitelist, but if youve found good reviews for it, should do the job, but usually you could still get a whitelisted one for a similar price too.

I'm pretty sure there's a deal on the EVGA B2 750W semi modular PSU, go check that out. Also, you can change the drive to a Seagate barracuda as they're slightly cheaper.

Hm, you could swap to this mobo: http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=138_1491&products_id=28702

Its plain black, no red bits but the other parts will be the red highlights.

Maybe this case too: http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=25_1290_608&products_id=30386

Youd have to swap out the blue LED fan if he wants the red theme.

One huge chunk of money you could save on is buying windows through reddit not sure what the "going rate" is for a copy. Just check up on the sellers rep and that they are a 'verified seller' to make sure they sell legit copies (as some people dont)

https://www.reddit.com/r/microsoftsoftwareswap/

Now back to the PSU. Probably safer to not skimp out on it and just bite the bullet and go for something more reliable.

This is probably one of the best priced modular ones I could find: http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=15_1619&products_id=30082

Hope this helps :)
