Okay I know a guy who has a Core2Duo(not sure exact model but best around when he bought it) 4GBs of RAM and a GTX 970

 

If people claim FX is a bottleneck then what is this? x.x

I run a Q9400 and a 270 and it bottlenecks sometimes so yeah...

I ran my QX9650 with my GTX 970 for several months, and even heavily overclocked on my 790i it bottlenecked pretty hardcore.

 

And it was even worse when I ran it with my E8400 first, and that was clocked around 3.8GHz.

That bottleneck is going to be huge! The GPU will probably only run at like 10 -20% speed.

 

without a CPU, Motherboard and RAM upgrade, this would be a waste or potential.
