None of these have OSes or peripherals, so keep that in mind.

And yet of course, like every one of these threads, there are no operating systems. And no, Ubuntu and Debian won't do considering most AAA titles are never launched on Linux and most console ditchers would be playing AAA titles.

And even then, these systems won't best an equivalent console for performance. The consoles are well optimized for the low end hardware that they have. They milk it and make the most of it while on PC, API and driver overhead along with a lack of optimization keep that from happening.

I can read buddy, but this post is just predictable. And G2A isn't exactly reliable, nor are they an authorized Microsoft reseller. At that point, you may as well pirate the OS.

  • 1 month later...

the only way to determine a console alternative is to bench it

This here. You can create builds and re-create builds all day on pcpartpicker but if you don't actually benchmark anything, how do we know that it's actually on-par with a console? I don't see the point in these threads other than for people to show off how creative they can get on creating builds online. That makes sense when someone asks for an idea of a build on their budget but to say that what you created does something but without showing proof, doesn't make sense to me.

it's not fanboyism moreso future proofing because trust me, the g3258 ain't relevant anymore

kinda wanted to do an i3/nvidia build in here tho :P

Was the G3258 ever relevant?

I see it only as an enthusiast's OC toy.
