Is there actually any difference between genuine and non-genuine windows?

Yoo Song Won

Apparently you don't actually get bugs or viruses... Obviously there is a difference though...

Non genuine simply means you don't have a legit copy of Windows. It's not activated.

Microsoft puts some restrictions in place to encourage you to purchase a genuine copy, but it essentially will (or should) continue to work.

You probably won't get Windows updates.

I've had non genuine (well, pirated) W7, difference? One is genuine the other one not. Nothing important, you still get updates but you can't get W10

This is a signature.

Not genuine, you get that nagging not genuine notification. black desktop background, and time limit where it suppose to restart like very 1 or 2 hours. Geniune windows you can download special updates from Microsoft, where non-geniune can't.

So should I get genuine?

Yes. Why? We don't support piracy here.

pirated Windows may get upgraded to Windows 10, but the new OS will be considered as a pirated Windows, and all symptoms associated with a pirated Windows will be shown, desktop becoming black, a desktop watermark, etc.
