What brand, do you think

(Am a noob at this)

Doesn't really matter unless you plan to use a FreeSync or G Sync monitor in the future. I'd personally go with the Nvidia 970 if you have the budget for it.

Gigabyte G1 970 or some 280x

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

it will actually most likely be better, the fans are better than the reference ones so you will get better cooling, the 'one up' is the 970 and it destroys, its also more expensive.

970 is a 1080p beast.

An AMD cpu has no place in a solely gaming build, end of.

I3 4150, Intel HD graphics, corsair CX750M, 4gb ram, Asus H81M-E, corsair 230T, Intel stock cooler WD Green 2TB Gigabyte 550TI

Why you shouldn't trust Gpu or Cpu boss Click on this I dare you!

You can't build a system without a case or an OS. :P

if you're on a buget its a really good card.  a friend of mine is running it and he can play everything ( only games like witcher 3 he needs to put down to the medium settings ) but 99% of the games run perfect on the higher settings

Personally, I would recommend an Asus dc2 960, due it coming in at a pretty compelling price at just 200 dollars. If you plan to just play games at 1080p, then the 960 would probably be your best bet, imo.
