Anyone Else Having Internet Issues?

EChondo

Hey gals/guys, the past couple days I've been experiencing some weird things and it seems it isn't an issue on my end. I have AT&T U-Verse and some sites like Steam do not load whatsoever while Reddit, LTT, YouTube, etc. all load fine.

Supposedly there are server outages happening right now and I was wondering if anyone has any more information about this? Checking downdetector.com found that some major ISP's are having severe outages in a lot of metro areas, but I can't find any articles or anything talking about this.

AT&T: https://downdetector.com/status/att/map/

Comcast: https://downdetector.com/status/comcast-xfinity/map/

Time Warner: https://downdetector.com/status/time-warner-cable/map/

Verizon: https://downdetector.com/status/verizon-communications/map/

6 down .5 up at Windstream... Can't wait I might be getting Time Warner which is the best you can get in my area unless AT&T optic fiber comes along its close. No problems though

Looking through the outages mailing list: yes. Verizon/Windstream/TWC have been having routing issues and failures in some places (windstream had a failure in Atlanta). Verizon (dallas) is having routing issues (still). Charter also had issues on 5/28. as well as centrylink.

I can post the chain if you want to read.

I'd love to have it, I just posted a thread about this in the Tech News with other findings I've had.

We have a SIP trunk with CL for a customer and as of a couple of hours ago the IPv4 route appears to have gone away between both Level(3) and TW Telecom. This has resulted in call setup failures for our customer.  I don?t believe it to be resolved at this point.

Charter NOC is reporting packet loss around the Wausau, Wisconsin area.

We've got a few MPLS circuits showing packet loss, and they're looking somewhere upstream right now.

Further updates as events warrant.

Thanks,

Not in Indiana, but another location:

Officials said the problem started when a fiber optic cable in Georgia was cut. The cable is owned by AT&T.

I'm seeing increased latency and some packet loss to sites over ALTER.NET (Verizon) to NTT and Level 3. I'm not seeing the same thing to GTT or Telia right now. I'm based in Dallas, TX. Routing inside Dallas seems fine.

We've been battling intermittent outages with our Windstream MPLS network for a long while now. Yes, there are the major outages we've suffered that seem to impact Windstream customers nationwide, but on top of those we also have intermittent outages that seem to only impact our Atlanta location, and for brief periods of time.  Just curious if there are any other Atlanta area customers running Windstream MPLS that experience these blips.  To be accurate, we are actually about 50 miles west of Atlanta (Carrollton).

Anyway, here's two from today 5/28/2015:

Outage 1:

2:06 a.m. EST - Carrollton went off the map for about 7 seconds.  No loss of BGP peering, no loss of BGP routes.

Outage 2:

12:32 p.m. EST - Carrollton went off the map for about 45 seconds.  No loss of BGP peering, no loss of BGP routes.

Thanks!

Justin,

That's if you can even form a sip session. We have multiple clients complaining. For the call set up try to increase the T1 timer. For the RTP your in for trouble.

I did find that traffic via HE was fine other than NY->NY with HE was being routed via ASH.

Regards,

Dovid

Confirm this was a problem in Florida going to verizon's network as well,

from about 7pm to 8pm EDT. Seems to have resolved itself by 8:15pm. We were

seeing 50%+ packet loss during that time period to clients on Verizon

networks.

We had reports of both voice quality issues on VZW SIP inbound as well as customers disconnected from our app then reconnecting. Seems to have calmed down now though

It appears Sprint cell service is out in at least the Toledo, OH market.  No signal at all on the phone so it seems like more than a backhaul issue.

Twitter, etc blowing up about it.

Second or third outage like this in the past year or so.

We're having trouble with any TWC business class link getting back to us on TW Telecom/Level3. So far it seems to be a national issue.

I have reports from Cali to North/South Carolina.

Our block we're having trouble reaching is 209.163.181.64/27.

Anyone know what might be going on?
