MSI PE60 PRESTIGE

Dubesta11

I was just browsing different laptop sites to see if any of them had a reasonable light+cheap+portable gaming laptop, and I found this:

600.png

Specs for the $1100 model:

  • NVIDIA GeForce GTX 950M 2 GB GDDR3
  • Intel Core i7 4720HQ (2.60GHz)
  • 12GB Memory 1TB HDD
  • 15.6" 1920 x 1080
  • Windows 8.1 64-Bit
  • 15.07" x 10.23" x 1.06" 5.29 lbs.
  • DVD Super Multi

It is preorderable (although never reorder before checking out video reviews) on Newegg and comes out on May 28 2015

If this is as good as it looks, it will be a great gaming machine for the price. It only weighs 5.3 pounds, so it will be portable enough to carry around. The 950m should provide similar performance to an 860m (If it still works that way), and the 4 cores (with 8 total threads) on the 4720HQ would be very good for gaming at 1080p. Battery life might be one of the weak spots, with similar systems only holding 4 hours of web browsing with the 47w CPU.

Thoughts?

It looks a lot better IMO, since it is more suitable for being in public without looking like a full gaming laptop. Which is what I will need in college.

It's a good laptop w/o a doubt, but maybe for gaming you should try and look (I remember seeing it somewhere 1-2 months ago, dunno if they still sell it), an Asus N551 or G551 with 850m 4GB GDDR5. I remember it existed and I'm sure it will be better for gaming a more future proof. But that's just me  :)

The ability to google properly is a skill of its own.
