OnePlus One available to buy whenever, OnePlus Two will have an invite system

It's the 1 year anniversary of the OnePlus One and OnePlus has announced the One has sold over 1 million worldwide. That's actually not too shabby. They also announced that you can now buy the One anywhere, at anytime, no invite required. They're extremely late on this, but it's still great news to hear.

And some not so great news... The OnePlus Two will initially use an invite system.

MFW - - - > -_-

Come on OnePlus, why are you doing this invite crap again? I'm super excited for your new phone, but with there initially being an invite system, well, that's a major turn off...

I think they previously mentioned the invite system on the two will be short compared to the One. We should see it removed. I'll probably still get the device :P

Also can you add the blog quotes on your OP.

Why couldn't have it been like this when I got my Moto G 2014

I mean my Moto G is a good phone but what kills it for me is that 8GB is tight and Android's not so good management of ram because iOS handles ram much more efficiently... Meh I guess the Moto G is better than a $75 "Smartphone" and nothing.

Oh gosh.. just a few weeks ago.. i went through many hurdles to get 2 phones delivered to Michigan.. where i would then cross the border to pick it up.. come back and pay customs and it was still worth it as they had stopped shipping to Canada for weeks upon weeks.. My gf and brother are currently really enjoying their phone. My phone is starting to die too.. Im really hoping I can get the Oneplus 2 now.

Invite system is brilliant. And i think OnePlus would have sold poorly if it didn't have it.

Why? Because it makes people go on forum and make posts about "Hey I have invites for XYZ!", boosting continuous awareness. Basically free ad.

And every now and then make a "big news splash" with "offers" like: no invites needed today, or for a week, or whatever.

Yup ... Brilliant marketing for a start up company. They also created a pretty big community on their forums which is quite unique as well.

Well when you put it like that, it is a good thing from a marketing perspective.

I wasn't that impressed by the companies initial launch. Hopefully they've learned from their mistakes with the second phone.

I wonder who will get theirs out first, OnePlus or Oppo, since I imagine it'll follow closely after the next Find series phone.
