If you don't have a budget, the GT80 will do it for sure.

GT80 is the best specced

the M18x is a close second

but honestly, they are INSANE to carry around, they are barely laptops

Personally I would rather buy a gs60 ghost, aorus x3 or x7, razer blade or something, because they are actually portable and carryable

I agree, I think a desktop would be better. There are a lot of things that can occurs at school such as Laptop accidentally dropped or something, if it's a GT80 or an Alienware then it's done..... You should build him a strong desktop PC. Laptop should be used for light use.

Yeah, most gaming laptops are heavy and thick (some are thin and light though).

I feel like we're getting a bit out of hand here to be honest. Like, we're suggesting laptops with i7s and shit, when he asked for a gaming one. Ik there are 1 or 2 games with hyper threading support, but it's kind of pointless normally.

the alt is to get a normal laptop

and get a desktop for the same price as the above 4 laptops

And the laptop will get stolen. it would look retarded if someone stole a big desktop

well the i5 chips are all dual core in mobile, so i7 is the only way for a quad.

None. The Clevo P377SM-A is the best. AW17 R1 and AW18 cannot use 900M cards (properly), so they're out. Neither the M18x R2.

MSI GT72 and GT80 would be good contenders, but their CPUs are power limited and thus suck. The clevo does not suck in that manner. It's also cheaper.

Did I mention that the P377SM-A can take a 120Hz internal screen? No? WELL NOW YOU KNOW.

The AW17 R2 also is a terrible machine that isn't even close to being in the category of the two MSI models or the AW18 or the Clevo I listed. Don't bother with it.

I have finally moved to a desktop. Also my guides are outdated as hell.
