Will dx12 improve performance of dual cores?

Will dual cores make atleast a bit of sense when dx12 comes out?

Is it worth it to buy Dual-Core for the next 2-3 years?

Yes. Intel's mobile product is primarily dual cores (with hyperthreading) so I don't see that changing anytime soon nor DX12 not working well with dual cores.

If its an i3, yes. If its AMD or a Pentium, no.

So i3 will suffice for 1080p gaming?

Without bottlenecking a 280x or similar card?

Mostly, yes. In some MMOs you might find it to be a bottle neck but it's your best bet against at a pentium

Pretty much any MMO really, wow, wildstar, guild wars 2 it is hard to be specific though, anything that uses the CPU heavily.

It can play Farcry 4, so its actually a very good choice for a budget rig, and it shouldn't actually bottleneck an R9 280X that bad, if at all.
