g skill ripjaws x VS. crucial ballistix tactical tracer ?

Hey guys,

 

Just need some help on choosing RAM. 

NOTE: I am going for a blue/black build and either ram will work because the ballistix have blue LEDs and the ripjaws are blue SO

it comes down to performance really.

the motherboard im going with is GIGABYTE Z97X UD5H BK, if that makes it any easier for you guys to help me out between these 2 RAMs

 

 

1. Crucial Ballistix Tactical Tracer - 8GB (2x 4GB) DDR3 - 1600MHz, 8-8-8-24 OR G.SKILL RipjawsX 8GB (2x 4GB) DDR3 1600MHz Memory, 8-8-8-24-2N

 

 

2.What is the difference of having 2N at the end of the numbers

 

 

3.What is the difference between

 

Crucial Ballistix Tactical Tracer - 8GB (2x 4GB) DDR3 - 1600MHz - BLT2KIT4G3D1608DT2TXOB

 

and

 

Crucial Ballistix Tactical Tracer - 8GB (2x 4GB) DDR3 - 1600MHz - BLT2KIT4G3D1608DT2TXRG

 

difference between OB and RG at the end of the model # ?

Red-green

Led color.

Go for tracers, cause LEDs.

Also the timings and latency doesn't matter much because its all so small you could only really tell the difference with synthetic benchmarks.

they are both very nice ram kits. get whichever you like the looks of best

The G-skill are NOT a flat blue. They are a metallic, shiny blue. Like powder-coated, only cheesier.

forget the ballistix they are the worst ram available right now they have the highest failure rate by far...stay away from those they are garbage...look for kingston, gskill or corsair sticks they are all good.
