Kraken 7.1 or Cloud II?

I have Razer Kraken Pro now. Is it worth it to get the Kraken 7.1 or Hyper X Cloud 2 for $100? Thanks a lot.

Out of those two, the Cloud II if you value quality. I would stay away from Razer's "audio" products. The smart option would be to get proper headphones (like Sennheiser 518) and a separate microphone (like Zalman ZM-MIC1).

I'm no audiophile, I just want a good headset for Counter Strike and the Cloud should be nice for me. Thanks people, I guess it's unanimous.

I own the Kraken 7.1's, and from my experience they are exactly the same as the regular Kraken Pro's. Aside from the glowing LED on either side, synapse recognizes them as 7.1 compatible and so you get access to Razer's surround software and EQ settings. Basically, if you download and use Razer's surround software with your current Kraken's, you are essentially hearing what the 7.1's will output.

 

I'd say go for the Clouds, as the sound sig is pretty good for a gaming headset, and they do provide a bassy enough sound to appease to many gamers.

Either a Cloud or a real pair of headphones...

Look into the Sennheiser 518s or Superlux HD-thingys and get a Modmic or something the like as a mic.

I have the Kraken Pro's and I love them, but I love bass. Most people don't like that much bass. The Krakens are extremely comfortable but from what I've heard so are the clouds. If you are a major bass head, get the Krakens. Otherwise, get the Clouds.

 

EDIT: forgot that the Kraken 7.1's cost like $100. Don't get em. I just use the Kraken Pro's with Razer Surround.

Not worth it. If you are into that "gaming" labeled stuff - go with Clouds.

But you can get something even more neat for the same price, just not "gaming".

Can I have a littlehelp with my decision? I am about to purchase a hyperx cloud 2 (for the usb sound card, my cord isn't long enough) and for the extra comfort? from what reviews say, and of course, aesthetics. What is better about the hyperx cloud (other than, of course, price)?

Thats like saying! 16gb ram or 4gb. Everyone would go for the 16gb.
