Silverstone revealed CS01, CS01-HS, CS02 and CS03

In November, SilverStone held a press event in Japan, and revealed several new cases, included the CS01, CS01-HS and a prototype CS-02. CS-01 HS, I believed, is developed from a case that SilverStone showed in Cebit 2014, called DS260 (I'm not sure if DS260 was a prototype or not, and you can see the DS260 here: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/126542-silverstone-showed-off-new-nas-case-in-cebit-2014/, or here ). The DS260 is a mini version of the DS380 NAS case, which housed 6 hot swappable 2.5" drive bays, 2 non-hot swappable 2.5" drive bays, support itx motherboard, and has a AP182 fan install on the bottom part of the case for cooling.

Then in that press event in November, SilverStone revealed the CS-01 and CS-01 HS. Compare with DS260, SilverStone had made some design tweaks on the CS-01 HS, like changed the 180mm to a 120mm fan, and changed the psu position. As for the CS-01, compared with the CS-01 HS, those hot swappable drive bays are removed, changed to 2 3.5" drive bays.

In that press event, SilverStone also revealed a case @ prototype stage, called CS02. Similar to CS01-HS, CS02 houses multiple 2.5" drives. CS-02 has 8 2.5" hot-swappable drive bays, with 2 non-hot swappable 2.5" drive bays.

In CES 2015, SilverStone again showed the CS01 and CS01-HS, and confirmed the specs of CS-02 and CS-03. According to computerbase.de's article, besides the 10 drive bays arrangement, the CS-02 has 2 expansion slots, two 80 mm fans for cooling, and supported SFX power supply only. As for the CS03, it houses 4 3.5" drives and 4 2.5" drives, and has a 120 mm for cooling.

I find it a little funny... the "High Storage" case supports 8 2.5" drives, so a total of 16TB with 2TB drives, or are 3TB 2.5" drives available?

The regular one could have 2 2TB 2.5" drives, and 2 8TB 3.5" drives so a total of 20TB storage, and at a lower cost.

Toshiba just announced a 2.5" 3TB drive, expect to be available in May...

I like those a lot, especially the high storage one. Sadly 2.5" drives just don't have higher enough capacity. Can't even get 3TB drives yet so it's a bit limiting. Still, they are hot swap bays so it's pretty cool nonetheless.

By then the Seagate and WD 10TB drives will be out, so you'd get 24TB in the high storage, and 26TB in the non-high storage.

It really isn't a big deal, I just find it a little funny.  :P
