Judge my build!

Go to solution Solved by Aniallation,

Extra questions:

1) Is this build worth the money, even if I get the parts on sale?

2) Is it worth having a 144Hz @1080p monitor rather than a 60Hz monitor @1080p with a gtx 970?

3) Should I try and save up for a 60Hz 1440p monitor instead?

4) I know this question probably isn't answerable, but does anyone have an estimate as to how future-proof this might be?

1. The build is not bad, but an HTC One M8 would probably sound better then those speakers, and GELID Silent 14 are better then SP140.

2. At 24" yes but keep in mind you won't get 144FPS in every game which may result in a worse experience (screen tearing, etc) then a 60Hz monitor at 1440p

3. A QNIX QX2710 can be had for not much more money then that Asus, and it can be overclocked to 96Hz, if you don't mind a 27"

4. It will be good for quite a while.

Hi everyone, I need some help with my build. My budget is less than $2000 including perpiherals and OS. This will be my first build and I"m hoping it will last a few years. I will be purchasing everything on Black Friday at my local store. I will be using this PC in an area of my house that I'm unable to get a direct Ethernet connection, therefore I will be using it over Wi-Fi.

Here are my objectives:
1) Play games like GTA V, Far Cry 4, AC Unity, Skyrim, Advanced Warfare, etc. on ultra @1080p
2)Do some programming in Action script 3 (I'm not a pro or anything, just learning)
3) Some photoshop, still learning it too (using CS3 lol)

Extra questions:
1) Is this build worth the money, even if I get the parts on sale?
2) Is it worth having a 144Hz @1080p monitor rather than a 60Hz monitor @1080p with a gtx 970?
3) Should I try and save up for a 60Hz 1440p monitor instead?
4) I know this question probably isn't answerable, but does anyone have an estimate as to how future-proof this might be?

All feedback is appreciated, thanks in advance! :)

1) It's worth the money, might be worth getting the I7-4790k if you want to keep this PC for a while

2) GTX 970 can't push 144Hz without lowering settings significantly. Go for 60Hz 1440p or 60Hz 1080p. Colors are awesome on IPS anyway <3

3) I say yes but that's personal preference

4) If you lower settings accordingly after a while you can keep this for a VERY long time (Note that this very long time can be like 7-8 years but in that case I would go I7-4790k)

RIG: I7-4790k @ 4.5GHz | MSI Z97S SLI Plus | 12GB Geil Dragon RAM 1333MHz | Gigabyte G1 Gaming GTX 970 (1550MHz core/7800MHz memory) @ +18mV(Maxed out at 1650/7800 so far) | Corsair RM750 | Samsung 840 EVO 120GB, 1TB Seagate Barracuda | Fractal Design Arc Midi R2 (Closed) | Sound Blaster Z                                                                                                                        Getting: Noctua NH-D15 | Possible 250GB Samsung 850 Evo                                                                                        Need a console killer that actually shits on every console? Here you go (No MIR/Promo)

This is why you should not get an FX CPU for ANY scenario other than rendering on a budget http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/286142-fx-8350-r9-290-psu-requirements/?p=3892901 http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/266481-an-issue-with-people-bashing-the-fx-cpus/?p=3620861

Unfortunately I can't get that monitor in Canada, and 1440p monitors start at like $450! Instead of the speakers I chose and those case fans, what about this?

Those are much better speakers, but for the fan, like I said, get some GELID Silent 14

I would get them, but my local store doesn't carry any. It wouldn't really make sense for me to buy all my parts locally then order one case fan online. But thanks for the feedback, you've really helped me with all my threads today!

No problem.

What store were you thinking of buying from? Do they have a website I could check out and possibly find some decent offerings on there?

I'm getting all my parts from Canada computers, placing my order on Tuesday when the  deals go online for viewing (crossing my fingers that they're good).http://www.canadacomputers.com/
