does the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo fit?

Dankirk
Go to solution Solved by TheSLSAMG,

should I rather buy the H80i and use the nf-f12s there?

I'm going to replace my CPU to the 4790K btw

No, get an NH-D15 or Dark Rock 3. The H80i has mounting issues with LGA 1150 and it's not worth it as a 120MM watercooler.

Hi!

I was wondering if the cooler would fit (according to the image below), I'm going to replace the fan with NF-F12's, preferably two of them  :)

My chassi is the Corsair Carbide 200R if it helps :)

EDIT: I'ts the ROG Maximus VI Hero MB :)

If you're spending the money on 2x NF-F12s and a Hyper 212 EVO, get a better cooler.

But yes, it will fit.

It'll fit, you'll just have to move the RAM to the other slots. Also why spend $40 on fans then $30 on a cooler when you could get a Noctua cooler for that price that performs MUCH better and it comes with the fans. NH-U12S or NH-D14.

Why I'm replacing the fans is cuz my friend really recommended it to me, and the cooler works perfectly for him.

We are both also fans of Noctua.. :P

The cooler works fine stock. If you're replacing the fans, you might as well go with a Noctua cooler to start with. Honestly it sounds rather dumb. Buying replacement fans is one of the silliest ways I see people spending money as they don't really perform better to a significant degree than stock, and if you want better performance you can instead put that to getting whatever it is we're talking about with better stock fans (case, cooler, etc).

Being fans of Noctua is a bad reason to buy that setup.

For $75 USD (the price of a Hyper 212 EVO and two NF-F12s) you can get better coolers, such as the Noctua NH-D14, be quiet! Dark Rock 3 and Corsair H100i/Cooler Master Seidon 240M. The air coolers will be fine with the case, but the water coolers will need a new one.
