Hey guys,i need help.I just recently posted a topic about which GPU should I chose, and I've decided to go with the AMD Radeon R7 260X instead of the Nvidia GeForce GTX750 1GB.So now,i need to chose a CPU.I think AMD FX6300 is the best option for it's price for 1080p gaming for games such as Battlefield 4,Gta IV,GTA V,Far Cry 3 on medium-high 30FPS.But i am wondering is there a better CPU than this for the same amount of money (100$)?

If there is,please send me a link from Ebay only. And please send me a link of a Motherboard which can support both the FX6300 and R7 260X. but AT AS CHEAP AS POSSIBLE because I'm limited on my budget (around 240$) so yeah.

Thanks for the help,please reply.

For the games you've mentionned the FX-6300 is indeed an awesome CPU for the price, i'd go with that.

| Displays: Acer Predator XB270HU 1440p Gsync 144hz IPS Gaming monitor | Oculus Quest 2 VR

Remember windows licence.

Have you considered the pentium g3259. more powerful cores vs more cores is better for gaming and the pentium overclocks really well.

those games he mentionned are multi-threaded games and the G3258 even highly overclocked struggle with them and stutter a lot.

Yes,i thought about Pentium G3259 and i know it's a very good CPU,but i think I think I'll stick with FX6300 cuz i've seen it run powerful games on 1080p 60FPS.So yeah :D And please give me a motherboard to work with with R7 260X and FX6300

i would suggest the asus M5A97 r2.0, ASUS M5A97 EVO, gigabyte 970A-Ud3P or the MSI 970 Gaming...any of those you can find at good price.

Also double check if you could fit an R7 265 GPU in the budget instead...it's performance closer to the R9 270 but cost is closer to the R7 260X...it's a great option sometimes.

The cpu is great, but I suggest you upgrade to an r9 270x and if needed get an g3258 and use that for a year or two and then get an i3/5

Thanks for the suggestions! I haven't bought anything of it (CPU,GPU,MOBO,APU) I'm just planning here so you guys are helping me a lot :D

So i am gonna buy

CPU AMD FX6300 6-Core 3.5GHz

GPU AMD R7 260X

APU Corsair 450watt

MOBO ASUS M5A97 r2.0

This is the best i could buy for around 250$ i think :)

Well especially bf is very gpu dependent. So I suggest that u get the g3258 and a better gpu, and later on you can upgrade the cpu

no battlefield run's like crap on a pentium his current config is better...a stronger GPU would be great and IMHO it would be worth saving some more to afford an R9 270 AT LEAST for GPU...but CPU choice is good for modern games in a budget rig if he can't afford the core i3.

Yes I suggested the pentium cuz he cant yet afford an i3/5 so the money he would save by chosing the pentium over the fx could be spent on a better gpu and then after a year/two he could get a better cpu

it will be a pain in the butt for ''a year or two'' and by the time he'll be able to afford a new CPU he will need a new GPU anyways...GPU,s won't last very long before they require upgrading so you can't really think that way...+ it will still be 80$ wasted on a pentium chip...

OP maybe you should consider droping the CPU to an Athlon 860K if that could let you afford a better GPU (R9 270, R9 270X or R9 280)

The Pentium chip seems to exhibit erratic frame rates over time.

Yeah,i know i could save money for a better GPU,but the problem isn't only saving, the problem is that i am 14 and my parents you know, say that this what i am doing is pure crap and waste of money and so on so on.I would really like to save for a really beasty rig and i know that future games require both GPU and CPU and RAM upgrades, but i think i will upgrade them over time.I think this could be a decent setup for this amount of money :)

CPU AMD FX6300 6-Core 3.5GHz
GPU AMD R7 260X
APU Corsair 450watt
MOBO ASUS M5A97 r2.0

BUT let me know should i buy the AMD R7 260X or Nvidia GeForce GTX750 1GB because i JUST CAN'T save any more money. All this money that I'm gonna buy my PC from is the money that I'll get for my birthday (Around 200$) + around 20$ for Christmas, and i can save around 20$ meanwhile from exchange left from school and so on.That is the problem, that i come from Bosnia which isn't a very wealthy country and everyone struggles to buy basic household stuff so you know....  -_-  -_-  -_-

the R7 260X is defenetly superior to the GTX750 you are making the right GPU choice...

but what if you would go with an FX-4300 CPU...or athlon x4 860K and an Fm2 motherboard...would that allow you to get a better GPU? cause as it is now your build features a better CPU than your GPU need to get fed so it would be better for you to with a FX-4300 and R9 270 for example...

Well,i just checked and I'm actually thinking now of getting FX4300 instead of FX6300 because it seems like the FX4300 is fairly cheaper (About 20$ cheaper on Ebay) and gives a little bit less performance which minimizes the gap between the GPU and CPU performance difference. Now if i chose the FX4300 should i stick with the R7 260X and if i get the R9 270X/270 will it still stick to the budget because i spent less on the CPU. :)

as i told you, look for either an AM3+ board and an FX-4300 OR an athlon 860K and FM2 motherboard (pick the cheapest of these two options that you have) and pair this kit with a R9 270 GPU (or 270X if you can afford it now why not...but the 270 is significantly faster than the 260x and is a good match for an AMD quad-core CPU)

RAM 4GB Already have it.

If you have better links and sellers please send links :D

well..do you plan on buying all this used? cause on a full system the chances that you'd receive a defective part somewhere in the chain are pretty high IMHO...

but it's a well matched system that should play pretty much everything well...i would go with a better motherboard though...something on the 970 chipset. (not MSI g43 or g45 or g46 those are trash)

I had an fx 6350 and Gigabyte 970a ud3p (8 power phases) and I got it to 4.8Ghz at 1.456v if i remember correctly. (paired with an r9 270x) It was honestly great, except for the fact I could not play mmo's or 64 player multiplayer at >40fps no matter the graphics settings. You think an overclocked pentium could? You are dam stupid if you think it can't.

You keep saying the pentium sucks and you will need to upgrade both eventually. While you can easily upgrade your gpu, there aren't any fx cpu's he can upgrade to. The fx 9590 gets stomped by an i5 44xx in gaming!

Seeing the OP in on an extremely tight budget, it might actually be better to go with that fx 4300 and r9 270x. Unless he had more to spend to get the g3258.

I would choose an i3 if you can afford it but if you can't I would buy the FX-6300 if the games you are playing are well optimized and if they utilize more than two cores, otherwise the pentitum would be a better option as it is faster per clock and core.

So is better per-core performance, which amd does not have.
