Reasonable although i do think optimal is a bit bs also i thought the recommended was optimal ive never seen an optimal list before :S.

Think of it like this:

Minimum: Obviously the bare minimum needed to play the game

Recommended: What you need to achieve smooth gameplay and high settings

Optimal: What you need if you want the best experience - the way the devs meant the game to be played. 1080p (or higher) 60 fps maxed settings territory.

Indeed, but since when have game devs properly balanced AMD vs NVIDIA, or AMD vs INTEL spec requirements? It just seems like they can never get it right.

More or less, yeah. The 270 is a rebranded 7850, and the 270x is a rebranded 7870 GHz Edition. There were minor tweaks under the hood, but that's about it. For whatever unknown reason, they also rebranded the chip arch itself from Pitcairn to Curaçao, despite them being essentially the same core chips.

The GTX 670 is probably closer to the 7870 GHz/270x, of the two. But at that point we're splitting hairs lol.

All well and good info, however i'd like to remind you that the 270 is a refresh of the 7870 and the 270X is a refresh of the 7870ghz.

I think this game is amazing, as I love just driving around, and the map itself was built well enough for me to buy it :)

That's not correct, unless you can provide a source stating otherwise? The 270x is indeed a refresh (mostly) of the 7870 GHz.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AMD_Radeon_Rx_200_Series#Radeon_R9_270

Radeon R9 270X was announced on September 25, 2013. With a launch price of $199, it is based on the Curaçao XT chip, which was formerly called Pitcairn.

Given the information we have:

Curaçao = Pitcairn

Therefore we can extrapolate which card is what by this:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radeon_HD_7000_Series#Chipset_table

and this:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AMD_Radeon_Rx_200_Series#Radeon_R9_270

We know the 270x is Curaçao XT

The 7870 GHz Edition is Pitcairn XT

The 270 is Curaçao PRO

And the 7850 is Pitcairn PRO

Therefore, it matches perfectly. The 270 is a rebranded 7850 and the 270x is a rebranded 7870 GHz Edition. Both rebrands with some minor tweaking of course.

If you have a source that specifies otherwise, then please do post it and I'll gladly read it.

So can it run 60fps without tearing now ? And is the terrible grain (noise) at night time gone ?

These were my biggest problems with this game back in august during free beta week.

Wow, coming from ubisoft i was expecting a 980 and a 5930k minimum. Watch it be locked a 30 fps for "scenic" gameplay.
