Hey guys, apparently the new imac is more powerful graphically than the next gen consoles. The r9 m290x can run titanfall at 60fps 1080p while as You probably know the Xbox one can only do 792p 50fps and the ps4 is running 900p at around the same frame rate.To be fair the iMac costs like 4 times as much but you do get a 5k ips monitor strapped to it. I just thought it was funny that apples glorified laptop is now beating out the "ultimate" dedicated gaming experiences.

Meh, I don't really care about the performance of a Mac and a current console. Only way to game is on PC.

Which game's performance are you comparing? Either way, my choice is PC.

A PC doesn't have to cost 4 times as much to beat the consoles but I guess a Mac does.

I'm sorry, but to even consider pairing a 5K monitor with an M290X... I just can't believe Apple's stupidity. for laptops, it's powerful, but... it's just not enough to do much other than play videos on a 5K display. I mean, given how graphics-heavy the UI is, the chip is gonna struggle just driving the display in the first place... AAAAAAAARRRRRRRGGHHHH AAAAAAAPPLLLLLLLE!!!!!!!!!! Why is it that they make such well-built, good-looking computers but then ABSOLUTELY SKIMP THE HELL OUT ON HARDWARE!!! IF THEY REALLY WANTED TO, THEY COULD PUT SLI 980s IN THAT DAMN THING, AND THEN WE WOULDN'T HAVE SO MUCH OF A REASON TO BASH THEIR COMPUTERS!!!

RAGE-RANT!!!!!!!!!!!!! THIS HAPPENS EVERY SINGLE BLOODY TIME!!!!! BUILDING UNDERPOWERED, PASSIVELY-COOLED, ALUMINIUM-CLAD MACHINES THAT HAVE PRICE-TO-PERFORMANCE RATIOS FROM THE DARK AGES!!!!!

That R9 M290X just so happens to be equivalent to the desktop R9 270. Try running games at 5K on that without seeeing a slideshow.

If you had PS4 or Mac, go with the Mac.

The imac isn't even intended to be a gaming computer. Its gpu will be fine when running the display and applications. The purpose of the imac is productivity so I see no issue in it. If you buy it for gaming then you don't have your priorities in order
