VPN over port 80 or 443

donner1122

Ok so I know this question has asked a couple times before. But there aren't any very good answers. So here's my situation. I have a windows 8 pc at home running a pptp server. I can connect to it over cellular and stuff, but the network that in trying to access the server from blocks outbound 1723 connections and only allows port 80 and 443. I have seen openvpn but am having a ton of trouble setting it up. If someone could give me an in depth tutorial on how to setup openvpn server on windows 8 or how to change 1723 port to port 80. This will help me a lot :)

Note. I use a MacBook Air and iphone to connect to my home machine. (I have dualboot to ubuntu on my Mac if I NEED it)

Personally wouldnt use OpenVpn - I would use a program called SoftEther https://www.softether.org/

Install it on your home PC and open up port 443 / 80 on your router (whatever you want to use)

and then install the client on your laptop then configure it to connect.

Reinstall? Use the installer in the guide from my link?

Also that guide is really easy to follow.

If you want to try it on an Ubuntu VM or VPS, you could try https://help.ubuntu.com/community/OpenVPN (harder) or search for an OpenVPN-AS guide (really easy with basic knowledge of working with the CLI in Linux).
