Cooler for overclocking

shadow196

I am getting an fx 8350 and a cooler master hyper 212x for cooling. do you have any suggestions about going for a different cooler in this price range? also I want to know what fan would be good as a second fan for the 212x and if it's ok to run mismatched fans. thanks in advance

CM Jetflo's are good fans for the budget buyer and are decent enough as second fan for the 212 EVO

This is why you should not get an FX CPU for ANY scenario other than rendering on a budget http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/286142-fx-8350-r9-290-psu-requirements/?p=3892901 http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/266481-an-issue-with-people-bashing-the-fx-cpus/?p=3620861

Will a cooler master xtra flow be good enough?

I think those are what come with the 212 Evo anyways, so that would be good. You might just need a splitter cable for your mobo to fit both on the cpu fan header (unless you have a CPU OPT or something that mimics the cpu header)

I used the 212 for a while, its a great budget cooler. I upgraded to a Phanteks cooler and dropped my temps around 8-10 degrees C, but it costs prob 2-2.5x the 212.
