Nvidia Shield Tablet & Router Compatability

Go to solution Solved by werto165,

I use a netgear router which is supported(didn't think it was initally) and I use limelight, If you have another android device you could try and download the limelight app(or try on the shield itself). 5GHz really helps, I have tried my nexus 7 and it only really works when no one is on the network(on the 2.4GHz band), but I'd imagine 5GHz is much better(I have yet to try it though).

Greetings ladies, gents and everyone in between!

I've recently bought a nvidia shield tablet and i'm having trubble configuring it with my pc, It just says it doesnt find anny compatible pc.
So i googled a bit and found this http://shield.nvidia.com/accessories-hardware/ However it just says that those accesories (routers in my case) are OPTIMIZED for gamestream.

Does this mean i have to buy a router for 100$ in order to use gamestream in my home? :S
I'd pref not to, so can annyone confirm if i need to have one of those routers?

If not, Anny ideas why my shield cant find anny gamestream-ready computer?
I've set it up accordingly to http://shield.nvidia.com/user-guide/how-to-connect-shield-to-pc/

I'm stuck on step 8.

Thanks in forehand friends  :)

And sorry for my bad English

they recommend 5ghz routers because there is usually too much interference on the 2.4ghz band(if you're living alone it's probably fine). but as i said try the limelight app and if your pc shows up it's most likely shield hub messing up.

I'm not sure then, maybe you do have to have the specific routers then don't know sorry.
