Planning new build this week.

Hi everyone, I'm currently looking at building a new rig.

I have a decent budget in mind (around £3000 / $4800) and would like some input/feedback, Im also considering putting my build log up as the build progresses.

So the parts im thinking of are below (UK prices) www.scan.co.uk

i7 5960X Extreme (£761.00) or (Intel Core i7 5930K if swayed but i do want the extreme)

Asus RAMPAGE V EXTREME (£329.87) @ Scan

Corsair Dominator Platinum 16GB DDR4 2666 (£311.33) Thats the real killer for me

EVGA SuperNOVA G2 1300W (£151) or Seasonic P1200W Platinum (£205.70)

EVGA GTX 980 SC SuperClocked 4GB (May consider 2 if budgets change)

Now on the case front im in 2 minds, so ive put my choices below

http://www.caselabs-store.com/magnum-sma8/ either a custom config from this company

or the TJ11 as ive always loved that case.

Also i would be looking to add a custom water loop with CPU and GPU blocks too, but im still looking at all my options for my main components, so any help/advise is greatly appreciated.

I use my pc for work/video editing/gaming

SMA8 looks awesome, JayzTwoCents used it for Project Red Mist and Skunkworks, check out his channel.

Definitely case labs for this kind of a build.  that's because you can customize almost everything and make it basically exactly what you want.  And yeah, definitely check out JaysTwoCents's channel, he's used that case.

Also go with the 5960X!  Bragging rights lol

As far as the PSU's go, either would do, but itd also look at the corsair ax1200i because of corsair link which is SICK.  Youll also have enough headroom to go with a second 980 in the future.

Thanks everyone for the quick feedback.

Just been watching JaysTwoCents - and im almost sold on the case.

With the PSU choices i was thinking with upgrades in mind, i know it will be a bit overkill to begin with, but i do want to add 2 maybe 3 980s by the end of the year, Now i am still trying to convince myself to make the wiser choice of the 5930K.

But as jakkitts says, I do sort of want the bragging rights a little bit, but im worried that by the time i add storage, case water cooling parts i will be well over the £3000 budget, I think i will go and get a full list of everything i want and maybe list it here in a day or two.

Also any heads up on good Rads/GPU blocks etc is much appreciate, i currently have an XSPC custom loop in my current pc but its just a basic loop so im looking at stepping this one up a bit with hardpipes and a full GPU/CPU setup.

Im back with an almost complete build list - I have gone slightly over budget already and i still need my watercooling fittings and fans etc.

I would really appreciate any input or recommendations, I also decided to go for the 5930k instead of the 5960x  <_<

Im still trying to work either the MAGNUM STH10 or Merlin SM8 Case into my budget, but the 900D is now my backup.

About the case:  I do not recommend the 900D. (This is based on other reviews I have seen)  The 900D seems to have lackluster build quality, and tends to choke many of the components in your system.  The air flow simply isn't that great.  That's the reason JaysTwoCents switched cases

Also I think you could get a less expensive mobo.  The asus X99 Deluxe and the EVGA Classified are two great options with basically the same features for a little less money
